do it within 30 days and you may be able to convince them to waive the etf.

May be able to?

They only have been advertising it for months.... I have had two customers cancel about 20-25 days in, with no side effects...

Unlike some carriers....

on cingular its 175.00 etf. you have a 30 day trial. if you cant find out if its good or not in 30 days than i don't know what to tell ya. yes you can port back. t-mobile makes you wait 90 days but with vzw you can come right back. the only ways your every gonna get outta contract for free is if your dead or bush ships you oversea's.

goodluck.

hope this helps.

I believe that answers to this question are already on the Cingular forum.

You can keep Verizon while you try Cingular, with a temp number. If ur sure about staying with Cingular, then you can port your Verizon number over.

I will mention places that sell Cingular have a map tool that is accurate by address, showing coverage and towers.

I assure you that T-mobile, Cingular have about the same reception, it must been the phone, I have Cingular phone T-mobile phone and Verizon, they all work well but when I travel from Texas to California driving my T-mobile and Cingular work the best I can talk for hours on I10 with out loosing the towers, time to time I hit dead spots but not much. Any how they will booth give you service, but one gives more.

just curious, what phone are you getting from cingular? Verizon has a nokia slider, three lg models and a samsung all coming out this quarter.

LG came out with a slider for Sprint last year, so that's really not that new of an idea.

as long as you come back to vzw within 6 mos they will waive the eft and if you have already paid it they will cred the acct. it doesnt matter if you port the num back or reco with a new num. hope this helps

This is patently not true. The ETF waiver is only good for 30 days. If you come back within 90 days you can get away with not paying activation fees. Between 3 and 6 months, you're in a grey area where you're treated like a new customer in some ways (activation) and an existing one in others (you can't buy a new phone at the new customer price).

In my humble opinion I think that for anyone to change service from one wireless company to another because of phone options is a IDIOT ! your priority should be with signal dependability rather that all the crap a phone has or doesn't have .Just my opinion.

Sorry that you're not happy with vzw's superior phone selection, steller customer service and down-right reliable service... even more sorry to see you go to cingular.

The best thing for you to do (if you haven't ported yet) is to Get a temp # from Stinkyular, then if you're happy with the service you can call their port center and have your temp # changed to your existing #. ANyway, that's my 2cents.

good luck
