8100, Bitpim and Blue tooth!

I got an lg vx8100.. I think its an overall great phone....

Next I read all about bitpim and downloaded the software.

Then I got a usb bluetooth adapter for the computer.. after numerious but frustating attemps I managed to get the phone paired up with the computer and bitpim recognized it at com 6.. although it didn't detect phone, but if i got to file system the innards of the phone shows up.

The first thing I tried was using it as a modem, I went to the service programming and inabled dun bluetooth. I dialed out using #777 and it workded perfectly. It was faster than dial up! I connected at 115 kbps whereas dial up in my area connects at between 45 to 56 kbps. I was amazed...

Next I tried the bitpim thing..I was able to ...

The Version 1 doesn't have the MP3 player working. The ringtones if you are using BitPim go on as MP3s. You need to get the upgrade. I finally just did that about 3 weeks ago for mine and got it all working right. It will take about 30 minutes to change the software so have some time set aside.
