As we all know, verizon did quite well for this past year of 2005, but i would like to just talk about their 4th quarter 2005 subscriber additions mix.

total net subscribers for the 4th quarter came out to be 2.035 million which consisted of 1.76 million in postpaid, 65,000 in prepaid, and 210,000 in reseller.

as we can see verizon was number in in total subscribers, number one in postpaid, last in prepaid, and last in resellers.

( out of 4 carriers)

So they gained customers the most profitable way...the most secure way for future business...and was the first carrier to have over 2 mil in one quarter....

although i am happy with the year and the quarterly results, i want to see some improvement on their prepaid numbers becuase that is another key unit for adding revenue and growth. since they are a great carrier and does a great job signing up people on their postpaid unit, they should also sign people on their prepaid unit and i dont understand why they arent doing a great job at that task. it should be easy for them.

Most profitable way?

Verizon pays more per subscriber than any other carrier. They pay more in new commissions than Cingular, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Verizon has the highest marketing budget of all the carriers.

Yes they grow and have low churn which is great, but they are not doing it in the most profitable manner.

they may have the highest marketing budget but frankly all the ads ive seen wether they abe print or television, are blase and unimaginative at best. You think with all that money they could make the company look a little more exciting. just my two cents.
"are you IN?" -- if thats the best they can do then im chopped liver.

I only like their "It's the network" campaign on TV because that truly emphasizes their strength, which is their network.

Don't forget their "Can you hear me now" ad.
Everyone who has ever used a cell phone with any carrier has uttered that phrase many times. Now, it's identified with Verizon.

Just comparing VZW to Cingular. VZW cost per customer is around 26 bucks compared to about 36 for Cingular. And the ARPU is only different by about one dollar more for Cingular. 4th quater numbers.

So, yes. VZW is a more profitable company.

Profitable indeed. I recently got notice of my coming bonus and whew! Nice.

But I'm a kickass rep and alway do well on QA, CSTS, TA, call stats and Sup monitors.
