Just got the 8100 as an insurance replacement for my 9900, but how compatible are they?

OK, accidentally posted before I was done...

With the 9900 I could send music to my phone via email and set them to ringtones...is there a way to do that on the 8100?

Also, what are the "sounds" for on the phone, I have yet to figure out how to use those for any purpose.

All help is appreciated. I miss my 9900. 😢 😛

No you can not email or pix messg them to the phone with the 8100. It does have an mp3 player though. Get yourself a memory card to add music.

Camera Quality is different. Stereo Speakers, expandable memory are the most obvious..

The 9900 was Audiovox's best phone. They, however, as most companies do when they come up with something good, they discontinue it way before it's time.

It's also an EVDO phone, so you can access other services like VCast, and the transfer rate is approx 500-700kps, vs dial up speeds on the 9900. as long as you are in a EVDO service area.
