Mobile Office
OK, so does anyone actually know WHERE you can download Mobile Office s/w version 5.5.1 from? I already own an earlier version of Mobil Office. Someone 'claiming' to be a VZ employee says that this will work with the 8100, but of course doesn't follow up by offering any info on where it is available, if so. I've searched and don't find any site that offers the later s/w for a download. After reading these forums, I'm starting to wonder if VZ doesn't intentionally have some of their employees working in these forums just to spread a disinformation campaign and further confuse people who are obviously less then happy with VZ products and service. That would fit in with the contradictory information we usually get when we talk with VZ employees...

1.Why would one "claim" (as you pointed) to be employee and not be? 🙄
2.Why would you honestly expect one of us to answer a question or go more into detail on a topic when in the same post you ask for help and then the very next sentence talk sh!t on reps?

$7.00 an hour, that is just flat out hilarious! An entry-level CSR will hit the 800 line after 3 months of training at twice that amount on the average just to start! As a Sr. Data Coordinator I can assure you one is well beyond that point! For the rest of your comments... please let me know your current MTN, I would be more then happy to start provisioning your port-out!

Not to mention this is NOT a "problem" you are seeking help for! Your MOK works just as it should and is doing exactly what you paid for! What you are trying to do is cheat/work-around to get something more for nothing! My mention of 5.5.1 and EVDO was nothing more than proving a point and validating my details were correct Vs the X others replies in the thread that could not have been any further off from being accurate!

Can you tell me how to clone an ESN and A-Key? I need to have 2 phones ring at the same time with the same number. I'm paying for 900 minutes! I should be able to use it on as many phones as I want. OMG Verizon is communist!! They're my minutes let me do what I want with them!!!

You're saying that this application Mobile Office when upgraded to a certain version will work with EV-DO while his older version only works with 1X rates? So he is seeking to upgrade in order to recieve EV-DO speeds? Or am I missing something?

As a matter of FACT, not nonsense, I never asked for help getting EVDO speeds on a newer VX 8100 handset. I just wanted to be able to get my same 1X speeds but still be able to use it occassionaly for DUN as I do the older handset I still have. This jerk, made arrogant remarks about how stupid it is to continue useing the older handset, and made claims about how easy it was to somehow "cheat" the system by buying $15.00 extra service from VZ, which I am willing to pay for even though I don't want it, if it will allow that old 1X or better DUN with the handset. But although he, and he alone, mentions this updated software version (I already have bought Mobile Office directly from Verizon and use it with the older handset) no one other the he,...

If you have a LG 8000 phone.
You should use the copy that ships with LG 7000. and buy a USB cable/mod a USB cable. Additional drivers should be available from the LG site, however I've not found where.
Apparently the Existing Data cable can be modded to work with 8100 also (with a dremel).
Also search on EBAY for "vx8100 usb cd"

What that "rep" or whatever is not telling you is.. Broadband Access Connect "known previously as tethering" is not available on your 8100 right now for consumers. I'm sure you have the ability to find the Mobile Office revision otherways if its that important to have it right now. The reason that revision is not publically available yet is its restricted to certain channels. Please goto www. vzw/smithmicro. com/download/
