Question about Verizon policy

Weird situation. A friend of mine has loved to ditch me and a lot of her friends on a continuous basis. It's like she makes plans with you, then gets off the phone and does it with somebody else, and then acting surprised when you as if she is ready...

Anyways, I think I can catch her at it this time...

She has Verizon, and supposedly her balance is past due, so that means her service is suspended. What I don't get is, she received the call on her cell phone. She says that when your service is suspended you can receive calls and texts, but not make calls or texts. This sounds really fishy...it has to be...what do you guys know?

i work for verzion but have yet to be late on a bill, but when i had a t-mobile phone, when i was late it was suspended..i could not make calls but i could receive it for a limited time. on verizon prepaid, if you are suspended, it will auto reply with a text saying someone tried to call or text you but your balance is depleted..it may do the same thing...on contract..but im not sure..hope that helps you...by the way you could always call verzion and ask them...

If you are suspended for nonpayment, you are able to receive calls and text, you just cannot make them. I think the primary reason for this is that may people only have a cell phone as their primary phone, so when VZW has to call you to tell you about you past due balance and ask you to make a payment, they have a way that they are able to reach you.

In my particular billing system, your past due balance has to hit 60 days or more past due before they suspend the line. If you miss a bill, they send the balance on the next bill with a fee (usually $5.00) for not paying the last one. As stated earlier, you can still recieve incoming calls, but if you attempt to make an outgoing call, you will be directed to customer service or the VZW payment center. Emergency calls can also be made.

I was going to state the same thing. Just because the account is past due doesn't mean the account is suspended. I see past due accounts all the time.
