How long for warehouse to notify that you're returned a phone?

So I had the Motorola V325 under my NE2 and I returned it. It was received on December 30th according to the FEDEX tracking number. I called last week to make sure it was received and that my NE2 was reset and my contract expiration date was reset. The woman who answered said that she did show via the tracking number that it was received, but that it takes the warehouse up to two weeks! to notify them that the phone has been returned. My v60s has seen better days and I don't know if I can wait two more weeks to get a new phone, does it really take that long? Should I just call back every few days and ask for a status? Anything I can do to speed up the process? Thanks.

I would have except that there were no other phones that I wanted at the time. I may get the E815 in a few weeks when it drops down below $100 again (I read on howardforums that it will be dropping back to $99 on Jan 17th) or going to Circuit City and checking out the Nokia 6256i and using my NE2 there. I just need to call the CC's around here and see if they have it in stock.

Don't get the 6256i. Why would you sign a 2 year contract to be stuck with a phone that is not capable of the newest technology. If you are going to sign a 2 year contract, make sure it is for an EVDO phone.

I don't care about being able to watch videos or play music on my phone, that's what I have a mp3 player for or a TV @ home 🙂 But I've been reading mixed reviews on the 6256i anyways, that the UI is clunky, ergonomics aren't so great, etc. I may just hold out another week until the 17th, hopefully the E815 will drop to $99 and by then my NE2 date will be reset.

If you are going to get the 815, make sure you are in an EVDO covered area. If you aren't, the battery dies VERY quickly on that phone because it is constantly looking for an EVDO signal. If you are in an area that is not EVDO, I would recommend either the LG 8100 or the Samsung a950 as those phones can switch back and forth from 1X to EVDO.

I live just north of NYC. Also, I will probably just disable EVDO via the info found on howardforums.com. I think the LG8100 has been pulled from the Verizon web site temporarily until they can do a firmware upgrade to allow playing songs from their online music store, not sure about the Samsung tho.

why dont you see about getting the e815 at cc. i think they still have it for 99.99 price after rebate. also cc is vzw corporate kiosk.so call one by you and see what there price is right know. also for your phone return. it can take up to 2 billing periods to credit you back. this is from vzw executive services. so at that rate it could be end of febuary for credit. also hope you kept copy of fedex track number, warehouse is good at loosing things.

This isn't 100% true. I have an E815, there's no EVDO in the Capital District of NY. Until I got my BT headset, I got almost a week of battery life from my phone. I now get 2-3 days. The phone isn't searching for an EVDO signal, the problems don't come into play until VZW starts testing the EVDO network in the area.

only info i had was on the samsung a950. not certain if they are going to do any software updates right away on any other phones. it looks like the samsung a950 and lg 8100 are going to be the launch phones for the music service. so that means monday or so i will have to take my 950 and my daughters in to get updated.but then i still need to get a couple of cards to use with the phones.

I don't know that I would get them updated. From what I am reading, the upgrade that enables you to use the Music download service disables the ability to drag and drop MP3's to your memory card and play them on your phone.

I see this thread turned into a typical "What phone should I get?" thread, but I'd like to see a discussion about the actual topic. I've worked for VZW for about a year now, and I can honestly say our warehouse and return operations are f**king pathetic. With all of our automation, you'd think it would be a simple matter of V. Rodriguez (for the Great Plains) signing for the FedEx delivery on the return, and all our applicable systems update with that info (at least VERIFYING that SOMETHING has been recv'd). Nope...it's usually a week to 10 days later, AT BEST, before an account is remarked that the phone has been returned. This dramatically slows down WFG exchanges and really annoys customers. And God help the customer if he doesn't kn...
