Hello,
My 2 year contract is up.
Just wondering if anyone else got a letter from Verizon with an offer for extending the contract for additional 3 years and receiving 100 bonus minutes for the same plan price?
So it would turn out to be 550 min/mo. for 3 years. Is it a good deal?

It is if you don't mind extending for 3 years instead of the normal 2. Depends on how long you plan on using Verizon. I have had it for 8 years and don't plan on ever switching, so I'd take that deal.

keep in mind that if you sign a 3 year contract....you cannot upgrade your phone as quickly as a 2 or 1 year contract without extending it further. So if you buy a phone with a 3 year contract, you would have to pay full retail to get a newer phone for the first 34 months of that contract. I've seen phones become obsolete in less than 6 months, let alone 34.

They may still give the NE2, even though it extended it 3 years.

Also, I get a new phone quite often. As soon as something new comes out, if I like it, I'll try it. I usually end up paying retail for most of mine anyway, so it's not a big deal for me.

the big question is: do you go over your minutes now? will u use the extra minutes? most never use all their minutes in a month.
3 years is a long time in cellular months.

You can still upgrade after 22 months and get the NE2. you just need to contact continuity marketing when it comes up if you want to continue your 100 bonus minutes.

3 years??? your sure your reading that letter correctly? The bonus 100 is usually a 3 months promo! i.e. renewal your agreement that is about to expire and for the first 3 months of the new one have a bonus 100!?!? The 100 for 3 months if very common, very common. Have been with VZW for 3 yrs now and have never heard of 3yr agreement let alone have seen an acct with a 3yr CED! Suggest reading that letter again

Yea, the letter states Sign a 3 yr agreement and get an additional 100 Bonus Anytime Minutes. And I am 99.9% sure you are still elligible for the NE2 once you sign for the 3 years.

It's a mistake then, there are no 3yr contracts. Even it there were, 3yr's for 100 bonus mins is a pretty piss poor offer.

I have not seen if the bonus minutes or each month for 3 years, or just one lump 100 bonus minutes, if it is for the 36 months and you use close to all your minutes, maybe, but, 3 years is a long time for a cell phone contract, I think I would pass on it any way.
