That sucks! From what I've heard when you file a replacement with Asurion you get a refurbished phone, but Lockline give you a brand new one. Is that going to change?

they both do.....but believe me......Any refurb equip you get (at least from Asurion) comes with an automatic 6 month warranty from Asurion. That means that if there are any malfunctioning problems, it will be replaced for free within 6 months

That's correct. Asurion backs up whatever they send out, they also cover some accessories, where lockline didn't. Basically if I had my leather case and car charger stolen with the phone. good luck, with asurion I actually get everything back. I think is a great thing. Everytime I had to call lockline they were like calling a robot! lol asurion at least they are nice.

I've had Lockline for 7 years, they send out BRAND NEW phones unless they are not available, then you get refurbished. They also cover accessories AND have a 6 month warranty.

Wow I am with Alltel and we have had both in the last year with asurion being the most recent. Asurion actually provides us with reconditioned phones and they do carry a full year warranty from the day of purchase. Lockline was always new phones cuz we had no choice but they always stated a refurb model was a possibility. Personally I prefer asurion though b/c the extended warranty included with the insurance is awesome and at least they back up their certified phones. Also we provide insurance phones in the store and not via mail so things are probably a little different.

i worked for lock\line and to ans. som questions lock\ling gives you a one year warrenty on your phone and depending on the carrier you had they also cover accessories. Like with the former AT&T they would not cover any but with Cingular they used to until July.

not for sprint customers they don't cover accessories.. I've had lockline insurance for 6 years and EVERY phone I've gotten is REFURBISHED, one time I had to return 3 of their phones due to malfunctions or cosmetic flaws and they have never covered accessories. Most of the times that I actually have to call is like dealing with robots :/

Wow... it sounds like you guys using Asurion are really lucky, I work in the NorthEast and handle problems with these guys daily. They never want to replace the phones with comparable models when they are out of stock, one of my coworkers had a Treo 600 that he dropped in coffee, they didn't have any and told him he had to wait until they got more in, 2 weeks he argued with them before they sent him a 650. Customers get phones that are junk, they never work, then Asurion tells the customers to just go to Verizon and have them give you a new phone which we can't do. Not to mention if customers try and make a claim and they've had their phones over a year, the Asurion reps are telling them to go to Verizon and just upgrade, when they're not el...

actually that was a order given to them by the corporate office of verizon wireless. THEY discontinued the A670 and DIRECTED asurion to replace with the 8910, not to play the "blame game" but We have it in WRITING.

thank you Lori....that was a decision from VzW corporate. In the wake of the a670 being discontinued, there is a large number of wireless customers who will not be able to recieve that sammy. It was sent directly to us (we even had to do a stupid little hour long training meeting on it) that VzW had authorized that the a670 be replaced only with the 8910.....same goes for the vx6100 being replaced by the moto v276. Believe me, we are holding out those phones to the customer with tied hands.

A pet peeve of mine: there is no "VZW Corporate".

Verizon Wiresless is not a coporation. It's a partnership of two OTHER coporations. A partnership is a different form of business organization in several ways. "Cellco partnership DBA Verizon Wireless"

Okay, carry on.

Well how is this:
The VZW HEADQUARTERS PEOPLE (You seem to know quite a bit, maybe you can even introduce us to them πŸ™‚ woohoo!) ... seriously... WE got something from the TOP offices of Verizon DIRECTING us to do this. NO joke here πŸ™‚ or harm intended or trying to start a fight between VZW and Asurion, just stating the facts of what we have gotten

yeah seriously! And OF COURSE Verizon Reps blame the "almighty evil f*ckin insurance company" (us)... If I could fax that stupid little pamphlet to every bitchin customer or rep. our pamphlet clearly states:

"VZW had had to discontinue two of its phon e models because the MANUFACTURER has stopped making those models and has AUTHORIZED us to replace them as of August 15, 2005"

So what do all of this mean? Well it MEANS that ASURION CANNOT CHANGE THE MODEL.
