pimpbillson, while most of the world does use gsm networks, even those networks are turning to cdma technology for future revisions. of course, it's not the same cdma as verizon. verizon will not adopt the gsm version (wcdma) nor will gsm networks adopt the cdma version (cdma2000). it is possible both networks will adopt the same, but completely unrelated 4G technology a few years down the road, but what that technology would be is anyone's guess. (chances are it will have something to do with OFDM.)
