Hello all. A quick contract agreement question...I am on my first year of a 2yr agreement with Verizon and I need to upgrade my phone ASAP from a KWC2325 to a LG VX6000, Audiovox CDM8900, or even a Samsung a530s. I was told by a VZW sales rep. that in order to upgrade now I have to Pay the Manufacturer's price of either one of these phones. You can imagine the expression on my face 😳 . But I also read that you can upgrade your phone at anytime and pay the promotional price of the phone at that time but have to agree to a contract extention of another 2yrs. which is not a problem with me. But which is true can some one please help me!! 😢

usually you will only get the sale price ONCE per contract term...unless you throw a fit and make a scene....then they will usually give you what you want just to shut you up....but not always with your 1st fit....

I wouldn't recommend calling customer service for this, If I get you acting like a 5 yo you're not getting anything, you call in like a decent human being, state what you want, we can work out a credit. The store has to deal with customers face to face, they may bend...

wow two very different replys...well being that i have been with vzw for about 6yrs now I hope that counts for something. I didnt explain before but the reason I want to upgrade is because I have been having problems with the KWS2325 since I bought it last June. I brought it into tech. support 5 times and had it replaced 5 time in almost a year. I figured I have been through enough for the past year that I would like to up upgrade to something that wount give me any problems. I am even willing to extended my contract if need be. But thanks for the advice I guess I will have to turn on the charm 😁

If you've had to swap out the phone 5 times, and there's verifiable notes on the acct that support the equipment changes, call in to customer service, be nice, ask for a supervisor (if you're transfered you'll get a Senior rep which is fine), Explain the issue you're having with the Kyocera, and explain how you'd like a cell phone that works, and you're willing to sign a new agreement to get this phone and back up your case with FACTS. #1, you've been a customer 6 years, #2, You've TRIED to keep getting swaps and they don't work. #3 Bring up pmt history if you've made nearly all pmts on time. #4. You're not asking for anything unreasonable, you're just wanting to pay for a service that WORKS. You can go into the store for this but in th...

Ahhhh.... The corporate smoke and mirrors... When the T720 came out, The first... Defective... The second.... Defective... The 3rd... defective... The 4th... Defective... Now it has been 20 days... I was told...Oh, so sorry, we only have a 15 day return policy... The supervisor... Best we can do is exchange the phone.... Email to corporate VZW... Soo Sorry... In the end, I was told to send the phone to Motorola... They make it... Verizon had no intension of backing up the phone... They offered my 2 other phones at full retail less $100.00 if I wanted to exchange it... After another week of fighting I was told that VZW was sorry that I was unhappy with the service.... Well, the phone was defective from day one... I was offered to split the ca...

Yeah you need to get a new 2 YR aggreement or just tell them you will switch carriers and they will give you the promotional price. WHenever you threaten leaving, they usually hook you up. Call customer service before you go to the stores. The store staff usually are mindless and don't care. But if you threaten the CS and tell them you'll switch carriers and pay the termination fee, usually they hook you up. I've done this before.

Good luck

I know that if a customer threatens me with an ultimatum and I'm sure everyone else on here would agree nothing will get done!!! Thats not the way to handle business.

Yeah my girlfriend was PISSED and ran out of the store. Maybe I was roid raging.. LOL.. Well either way, he gave in and gave me what I wanted. Young guy who got a manager job without the experience with pricks. Well CS told me to they would comment in the system and they never did. So I might've been a little too upset.

If the phone is DEFECTIVE---They'll swap it, If you just want a camera phone, and you paid $19 for the 2325, then you have to pay full retail. Carriers arent in the business of losing $----If you are a long-term cust like you say, call CS and ask for retention----Usually the easiest way to get what you want is to (nicely) threaten to cancel----Usually resolution is a service credit on your bill, and pay full retail POS. As far as extending the agreement, you can upgrade by doing that, but not until you've had equipment 22 months.
