i got a question about a lg verizon phone..
i think its either the vx 8000 or 8100.. on the sceen a buddie of mine must have hit something and it says under his banner * car kit * i tried searching for something in the phone but i could not find anything,, can someone who knwoz verizon phones tell me what it is and how to turn it on/ off.. thank you

Its not a setting, LGs are notorious for getting water damage and going into "car kit" mode, I would bet almost anything that he has gotten some moisture in it and that is causing his problem.

Ahh yes.. The ever mythical "car kit" error. I've seen this happen from two instances.
1st instance - Impact damage. The phone took some kind of impact and it damaged the charging port. Basically it has shocked the phone into thinking it's been plugged into a car kit 24/7.
2nd instance - Water damage. The phone took in some form of water or liquid damage. This shocked the phone into thinking it's been plugged into a car kit 24/7.
I'd recommend taking it into service. With the car kit feature enabled, the earpiece of the phone will NOT work.
