Why is Cingy so Ghetto??????????????????
When I go to the mall on Saturday and walk by the cingular kiosk the cingy sales rep damn near yell out, what's you got, what's you got. Even if you walk by them five minutes later there be another one, who's your provider, who's your provider. What kind of ghetto practice is this? Is this the only way cingular can get customers?

you should pass by the Verizon kiosk over here. The guy sits there playing with himself and when I went over there yesterday to purchase something, he was too busy sitting down talking to this lady.
Same day the sprint kiosk seemed like he wanted me to do business as he was polite.

I wonder if he wasn't just talking to this lady, but helping her with a problem. I do everything I can to help customers, and yes I sit at a table sometimes with them. I conduct full Nextel trainings, so people know how to use everything instead of coming in day after day with questions. I will acknowlegde people when they come in and see if it something quick (accessory purchase), a service issue (leave the phone, name number and issue and I will contact back), or questions about plans (give them an estimated time frame for when I will be free). But would you have issue if you came into my store and I was helping someone...even if it took some time? The other option would be to just push them off to Customer Care and then I wouldn't be...

Yeah, I hear you there. I was at WalMart a week or so ago. They had one guy working the electronics department. He was showing a camera to someone who was his friend (I listened to his conversation for half an hour). All I needed was a game out of the case for my daughter's game boy. Just to clarify. I talked to a rep who got a manager to come out to me (that took 20 minutes). Oh yeah, and as of a few weeks ago this guy is selling Nextel in addition to Sprint...Love their attitude...good for my business. believe me, I have already 2 Nextel customers that bought their phones at Walmart come into my store for help because I am a "Service Center" and WalMart doesn't service phones...they just sell them. They then tell the customer I am a service center, I can help them with GENERAL CELL PHONE QUESTIONS!!! HELLO?!?!?! You can't even show a customer how to make a Direct Connect call?!?! A service center is for fixing actual phone problems. Not showing how to use a phone. I sent that customer back over to WalMart so t...

That's me too. I saw an ad the other day for their "Small business appreciation day". They had a commercial talking about how Walmart helps small business because it gives them more buying power. I almost choked. WalMart is all about putting the small guy out of business because they will undercut so much there is no way a small business can compete...

lol so true, we have a kmart over here and walmart on the other side of town, did you know walmart closed its store to move it next to kmart and they were told to undercut kmart until kmart went out of business. Its sad what walmart does to a town. I am from miami and I lived their from the time I was born 1980 untill 2000 when I shipped off to boot camp(marine corp). Well I had never been to a walmart and they finally put one in the city where I lived the last half of my life. Walmart is like a parasite(sp) there to shut everything down insite. Im just glad mc donalds is not like that (even though I do not eat there)

Just because you guys ran across a couple of idiot sales people doesn't mean Cingular is "ghetto." I was in Grapevine Mills Mall in Texas I had a Verizon salesman in a kiosk start harrassing me about what service I had and I told him I had AT&T (the merger hadn't gone through) and he replied get some real service. "Verizon is much better let me show you." I said no thanks man and he continued to talk as I walked away. What a joke. So doesa that make Verizon "GHETTO?"

My dad was buying something from Radio Shack one day and on check out they kept pushing him to buy a cell phone. He said he already had one. They said who did he have. Dad said Verizon. They asked where he got it. He said his son sells through a local dealer and mentioned the dealership's name. They then started blasting us saying we sold used phones and all our phones were junk and he needed to get his next phone from them. 1st of all, all our phones are brand new. 2ndly why trash us to a customer? I've experienced the same thing while shopping in local malls. They'll scream out "Hey! Hey!". I just give them a smug look knowing I use Verizon.
