My company is sending me & a couple of other guys out there. We need a reliable mobile Internet connection. I know there's a CDMA network in Iraq, but I need to know if my aircard will work. If not, I'll have to use my phone as a modem along with a connectivity kit, right?

It got a lot of headlines, but had little real support. The initiative failed and MCI was awarded the contract for the new GSM network being built.

Thanks, Rich. That's exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm guessing my boss had heard of the initiative to put up a CDMA net, that's why he was pushing it so hard. We kept TELLING him that everything else in the region was GSM, but he's the prototype of the Pointy-Haired Boss...
