Unlimited minutes, I have, including web browsing. Treo 650?

I'm wondering if I can use the web browser on my Treo 650 with Verizon, and get unlimited web access as I do with my current phone. I'm sooooo glad I got in on this deal years ago. They just renew it every year, and I pay just $49.00 a month for unlimited phone and internet minutes. I'm thinking I'd like to get the Treo 650 and enjoy looking at the web on a bigger screen, for the same free price. Will I need some special plan with Verizon for the internet features on the Treo 650? Or, will I just pay the same price and enjoy the experience more?

If you have the unlimited minute plan and want to get promo pricing on a new phone, you will be required to upgrade to new promo price plans.

Any feature or phone changes you do will required you to update your price plan, unless you purchase the phone from a different source such as Ebay and update the ESN using vzw.com

not true, you can upgrade without moving to a newer plan as long as your plan is within the proper tier structure.

Okay... here's the skinny.

You can upgrade your phone without changing plans. That much is true, however, there are stipulations.
1. If you buy the phone at a discount (upgrade through VZW) and renew your agreement when you are on a grandfathered plan (unlimited mins) you will be required to change to a current plan to take advantage of the promotional price.
2. If the phone to which you are upgrading requires a specific feature (V-CAST, Data package), there MAY be a requirement to change to a current price plan. With a V-Cast phone, this change is mandatory, with a data device such as a Treo, it is questionable, however I would assume that you would be required to change to a current plan.

Hope this helps.

If you're on the unlimited minute package and wish to change features or upgrade to a new phone at a promo price, you will be required to change your price plan.

I don't care about any promo prices on the treo 650 phone. I would rather transfer my dirt cheap grandfathered rate plan, and pay full price for the phone.

Let me try this another way. I believe I can transfer my rate plan to any phone. I also believe I can get the unlimited data plan for the treo for an additional $40 per month. Can I just add that data package to my new phone that I have unlimited minutes on, or will I have to get a new rate plan altogether to make this work?

If I go with a motorola e815 instead, can I just add that $20 package that lets me get high speed movie-tv type stuff?

No need for promo pricing on the phone, I just want to transfer the plan to another phone, and get some other feature added. Much th...

sorry.

the evdo vcast feature add on will require the america's choice plan. the unlimited data add on will require a current calling plan as well.

if you get a new phone with those features, you're most likely going to have to change your plan.

I can tell you from experience that if you go with the E815, you will have to change your plan. If you were to add the data package (unlimited for $44.99) for the Treo, policy states that you would need to migrate to a more current plan. This isn't to say that there isn't a rep out there that may try to add the feature without changing your plan, however there may be some system limitations (billing system will not allow the feature add without a current plan) that would keep that from happening.

Hope that helps

Never had that problem. just call vzw on the phone C.S. tell them you want an upgrade(new every 2), and that you want to keep your same plan.
thats what i did plus i got the in messaging setup along with the net and still kept my same plan from 5 years ago so you should not have any problem just talk directly do a vzw agent that deals in the sales aspect for upgrades. and you still get your upgrade new every 2 price.
