ESN changes are only charged a fee if you have someone else do it for you. If you log onto VZW.com and access your account, you can change your ESN over and over without any charge.

Enjoy.

We don't do it in the Great Plains, either. Perhaps it's a Vision thang.

Its an East coast thing. I've had to call East coast (because I don't have Vision East access)to do an esn change for a customer and they told me that they do charge $15 for the swap. I think it will happen less and less since we are not supposed to swap phones that are not GPS.

That is a convenience that we provide NOT PART OF THE SERVICE we provide. It costs money to maintain the the little machine that transfers the numbers. The cords are $10 a piece. If you are on a $79 or higher plan we do it for free. You can get Backup Assistant through Get it Now and do it yourself. It will cost you a whole $2 a month for the service.

As an agent, that device that transfers the phone numbers cost $750, that is why I dont carry them in my store, if I were to I would have to charge people to change their numbers to recoupe some of the price, than they would get mad, If I cant swap them over than people still get mad, I'm damned if I do and damned if I dont

$15 dollar fee is also charged in the South Area(or at least in central Texas). The SoCal market(West) did charge a $25 dollar fee several years ago for an ESN change but that only lasted a few months.
