Backup Phone- workable idea?
Now, is it possible to have a second phone, which I use as a backup phone, and activate and use it where I need analog coverage? I don't really want to pay $20/month for a second line, just want to do, basically, an ESN swap when neccessary, but I'm not sure how quickly those would take effect, or if Verizon would care about, potentia...

I think it is mostly an East coast thing. I've had to call East coast for an ESN change and they mentioned that it would be $15. I think we will see this in the West area eventually. But it ESN changes will happen less with the new GPS compatibility issue.

I'm intrigued, and will be checking this out further. However, one thing I must know, that a phonescoop comparison sheet won't tell me-
It uses GSM for travel to Europe and fun times. Now, Verizon's analog networks are in AMPS, yes? So it would still be considered a "purely digital" phone in that, though it's tri-mode, it will only work on the digital aspect of Verizon's network? Or am I wrong in that?
