I tend to recommend the motorola 730 the most. But the lg vx6000 has proved excellent as well (just doesn't offer any analog, digital only). these are the ONLY 2 flip models i recommend. Open face, non flip, recomendation is the kyocera 2325. has great reception but no color graphics.

I have the 6000 and it rocks! Very cool phone in every respect except one: there are no earbud headphones that offer an answer/off button. And no one including LG can answer the simple question of does the phone have that capability.

PS My wife and I are ATT cust. now but are switching. We are most likely going to return the phones to Verizon and wait for the Number Portability to start.

Good luck

Very good. I hope you do switch to verizon. I don't know of any headsets that have auto answer on them. The best brand of headsets is plantronics, so you could try plantronics.com.. The # portability will be available in the top 100 cities in the us on nov 24

So far my overall favorite is my current phone, the Samsung a650. I got it because I wanted a flip phone and tri-mode. While it's a basic tri-mode flip phone and lacks an external screen, it works where my Motorola 120c and my brother's Motorola V265 don't. He complains his phone drops calls a lot in his front yard in Knox Indiana, while my Samsung a650 will hold a steady digital call in the same spot. I haven't decided what my next phone will be, but unless I get the Nokia 6256i, my next phone will be an all-digital phone from Samsung as my family has always gotten LG phones with poor reception, even in areas where the signal strength bars show full signal strength.

I recommend the Nokia 6256i, Nokia's first clamshell model. Can't get it at a Verizon store, only at Verizon Circuit City outlets.
It has FULL Bluetooth! It has GPRS under CDMA! It has an internal slot for an SD card. It's an FM radio. It has a zoom camera. It has a web browser. Etc, etc, etc.

It has everything I was looking for to replace my VG6000.

Strictly my 2 cents. BTW, I had to convince the Verizon rep of some of these features. He first said they didn't have any phones that met my specs. But, he opened up the box and read the manual before he believed it. Said it was the ONLY Verizon phone that offered ALL the BT profiles.

FWIW

duckbutter and i were only playing, the original post was 2003. I just it was funny looking back at when people were debating if they should get an lg6000 on a motorola t720-730 and started thinking of all the petty issues people complained about on their phone today when that thing was the most expensive turd of a mistake ever created.

As far a phones today go i will stick with my 8100 and my 815, i have no need for full bluetooth and the removable memroy and card reader works fine for me. and i do use the web browser a lot so i need vcast so it doesn't burn up my minutes and they also have evdo so it is nice and fast, the nokia is only 1x.

What do you think was the best phone in 2003 now looking back on it.

The 270c was the bomb!!!!! Amazing reception and a ridiculously loud speaker phone. VZW's first BT phone too, u had to buy the BT adapter that goes into the back under the battery door--> made it look like there was an extended battery under there
