How to get rid of annoying Verizon blinker: CDM8600.

Menu > Settings > System > NAM Set > Auto NAM > Set to yes (6-4-3-1-yes).

This works only as long as your phone is on, once you power off then on again, the setting is lost. Setting this to "Auto NAM" should not have any side effects.

For those who don't know what NAM is:

Number Assignment Module. The NAM is the electronic memory in the wireless phone that stores the telephone number and an electronic serial number.

For the 8900,from what i experienced if you mess with eri file the Roaming Indicator appears. I used WinHex and i figured out that you can customize what you want to be displayed without having the roaming indicator appear. Change the VERIZON WIRELESS to what ever you like, but you have to have the same amount of characters that Verizon Wireless has (VERIZON= 7 characters, you may replace that with any letter you like or change the hex to 00 to create a blank space that takes up 1 character... WIRELESS= 8 characters do the same with the above.) If you do this right you can at least get rid of the banner and use what you want!!

(HINT) Try replacing with all blank spaces(00), the inner display shows no logo, as for the outter... the time a...
