Okay all she is thinking of getting the BB Bold. I realize that its the replacement to her Tour. Does anyone have anything good, bad or indifferent about this? Verizon's website wasnt so favorable.

Thanks

I really like the BB Bold 9650, It's a tad bit bigger than it's GSM cousins which for me made it easier to type on. CDMA Blackberries have auto volume, very nice. And CDMA blackberries always seem to be louder hence they make better phones. But I haven't used one with the new software, so may want to think about that?

RIM isn't doing too well right now. I'm not sure I would want to get into a 2 year contract with a blackberry right about now. I tried to like android and I'm still trying to, but my iPhone has been much better than my Bold 9000 (AT&T) and my HTC Incredible.

Just because analysts are morons doesn't mean the Bold 9650 isn't a top-notch quality device. I've used it for over a year, works great.

And don't jump on the bandwagon and sell RIMM short just yet. They are still profitable, they have a great OS right now, and they own a badass future OS (QNX).

RIMM just needs to beef up their marketing and brag about how they own a top-rated OS.

You post a 4+ year old promo video that QNX made? This means nothing. I own a Blackberry Playbook. It has zero use as of right now and it is priced way to high for a lackluster device that RIM is very far behind on updating.

QNX will not even be a thought on consumer devices until mid to late next year! By that time Ios, Android, & Windows Phone 7 will be light-years ahead in development! RIM can tout all it wants about what their devices "will" be able to do but consumers don't want to wait.

I have been saying for several years that they would be a much more profitable company if the just licensed their servers to other companies and get out of the device market all together!

I love how people say that Android, iOS and WP7 will be light years ahead of RIMM in a year. It's like saying: "They'll do everything RIMM does now, better, and RIMM will have no progress."

Light years ahead? I don't think so. As it stands now, I feel that WP7 is the closest to being as good an OS as BB OS is. Android and iOS tie for 3rd.

But you are still omitting the fact that consumers are not happy with RIM overall. They are fleeing...In DROVES....This is fact.

I am not Anti-Rim....I like them...Sadly though they are just too big headed to think they need to change

hmmm-i've used bb's for almost 4 years (hated the storm 1, poor wife has the storm 2 which she loves, go figure) and i own a dinc just now. love the dinc but honestly i sometimes miss what a bb can do, even slow and clunky. the new models coming out later this year with faster processors should make a lot of people happy for a while. and by the way, overseas is almost all bb; we're in indonesia just now and it's all bb, same for all of asia not to mention india. their world market is huge, just because some people here on the domestic blogs don't like bb's doesn't mean they don't sell well.

It'd be nice if the new Bolds coming out were 4G.

I have the BlackBerry 9650 and love it. I use it primarily as a communication device and to look up facts and view articles on the internet when I'm not near a computer. It is simple to use, very flexible as to notifications, well built and accomplishes all I need.

You'll be happy with the 9650. I've had it for over a year. Battery life is good. Voice quality is good.

Thanks all for the positive feedback. I wasn't looking for anything more than an honest review from someone who had it. positive or negative.

Thanks Again
