I don't think Verizon has to worry about it. Verizon Wireless will still end up on top. Gsm is not the way of the future. Yeah you can use it over seas, but CDAM is the future for data speeds and voice. Verizon wireless is teamed up with voda phone and in this up coming year will introduce phones that will beable to work both gsm and cdma. All those customers that ported out of either cingular to att and vis versa probly will go to verizon wireless

verizon should benefit from the merger. cingular in cali has a worse name than att, so att cust are porting out consistly. also when the merger is approved and they start to combine the two companies there are going to be alot of confusion and havic which will make more cust leave. great marketing promo by verizon for this in-network rolling out during merger talks. making verizon an elite wireless club and allowing members in the club to talk for free anytime. it great to have a family of 38 million, probably soon to be 40 million after 1Q 2004 results. vzw will catch up to cingular/att by the time they complete the merger which expected in 2005.
