Not sure why this is new all over the place today. He was phased out years ago when they "went another direction" and only came back for the iPhone commercial.

Well, with the Can-You-Hear-Me-Now Guy, it was about the reliablility of Verizon's voice. Rule the Air is about doing more with your phone and their big smartphone push.
