Name came up on Caller ID
My son just called my land line from his Verizon Cell and his name and number came up on my caller ID.
Sense when do the names come up? This is the first time its happened. I called my own land line from my cell and mine still just says "cell phone" with the state.

I've noticed this as well over the past 2 days. 3 out of several cell phone calls to our store have now shown the name as well.

That's kinda cool. I'd love to know if a job is calling me. I usually ignore unknown numbers. Can you please explain why this is happening? I have a BB 8830, I am not getting what you guys are getting. I want this feature!

We are talking about landlines. When a VZW customer calls a landline it usually says cell phone instead of the persons name. Names have started showing up over the last couple days.

We've had several calls related to this from elderly in certain areas, there has been a tech alert for the past several days working on this. Don't know why since I read hear that it's not intended to happen, but maybe it's a necessity due to people threatening d/c over this really stupid issue (IMO). 🙄

That was a thread explaining why names don't show up on landlines from Verizon cell phone customers. It's because Verizon doesn't provide the names to any CNAME database. Something has happened over the last few days and names have started showing up. Not sure how they could get there unless Verizon is starting to provide names.
