Can't decide between the Droid X and The Samsung Fascinate please help
I wish I had two X's instead.
The Fascinate has better video playback clarity in low-light environments.
The X is better at EVERYTHING else.
Everything!
camera, battery, browser, apps, audio.....
...everything.
And with Droid X on a BOGO now, there's no reason to choose anything else unless the phone is just too large for you- but the Fascinate is almost the same size, anyway.
Get the X.
By owning both, you should be able to see the clear distinction between the picture quality of the two. I've compared the Fascinate to a variety of other high-end Android phones (with the exception of the Galaxy S phones, because they have the same screen, of course), and I can safely say that the Fascinate's screen blows away all other models.
I'd even say that the Fascinate's camera quality is higher than that of the Droid X because of not only the lens, but also the imaging software implemented by Samsung.
On a smartphone what will you be doing more often:
1-Watching movies or viewing pictures
2-Browsing content on the web/using an app.
If you answered 1, the SAMOLED screen is clearly superior. if you answered 2, the LCD screen is better.

the Droid X has a better contrast ratio? The Droid X's LCD is better than the Fascinate's Super AMOLED? No.
Umm.... I did say that video playback was better on the Fascinate, but only when I'm using it indoors and can actually see the screen! The luminous pixel intensity is god-awful compared to the traditional LED on the Droid X.
Did you skip over this line?

The clarity of the Super AMOLED screen is amazing, but it's a one-trick-pony of a smartphone.
I would gladly, gladly trade in that Super AMOLED for...

I slipped. Should have written traditional LCD there.
