Hello all, I purchased a phone and am still within my 30 day return window, however my fiancee accidentally threw out the top half of the box that the phone was. Will I still be able to return the phone since I have everything else?

Thanks in advance

It partially depends on where you bought it.

If you bought it from an authorized Verizon agent, you'll be subject to that particular company's return policy. These stores are sometimes referred to as resellers or indirect agents - basically, they're NOT owned and operated by Verizon, always have another name, but always show Verizon logos at their store (with their own name). I can't speak to the stores in your area, but around here they wouldn't return anything without every piece in an in-tact (uncut) box.

If you bought the phone online, over the phone, or in a Verizon store (all owned and operated by Verizon), then you should be able to return it in most cases, but will be charged a fee for the box, possibly in addition to the res...

Ok thanks for the info. I ordered mine online through verizon. Would you happen to know how that will affect my upgrade? I used the one year upgrade, but new every two would have actually gone into effect at the end of this month. I should have waited from the start but I was getting tired of the Droid that I had.

Once everything is returned, your upgrade dates and your new every two date should go back to what it was prior to your upgrade. Just check and make sure it is put back to the correct dates.

It will definitely require a manager to fix the New Every Two. Once you do a 1-year upgrade and then return it, the system usually doesn't roll back the NE2 date following a 1 year contract. A process best done in the store, and best followed up on before leaving the store.

I thought the return policy was 15 days? IF its 30, I am returning a phone tomorrow! 🤭

30 days to return
$35 restocking fee
Phone must be in like-new condition
Must have box, manuals, chargers, cables, bits & pieces
If UPC is missing, you will be charged for the rebate amount ($50 or $100), which you'll still be getting back as a rebate (zeros out that way).

This is the policy at a Verizon corporate store. An authorized agent may (most likely will) have different policies.

What phone are you wanting to return?

Thanks for the info. This is the first time I've ever needed to return a phone so I was not sure on how the whole process worked when it came to upgrades. Thanks again for the info
