Need Some Help From You Guys

I have had a Lg Dare for about two years now. And I have been out of contract for one year.

I don't travel more than 90 miles from my home area, so coverage is not an issue. And the top four carriers work great here.

I have been a Verizon customer for about 7 years now, and the company has been flawless. I was thinking about getting the Droid, but there isn't anyone near me that owns one. But, I know a lot of people who own the Iphone and love it. I check my email several times a day on my Lg Dare, and I have grown tired of the tiny screen.

Since I have been on here, I never see much of anything in the apps for the Droid, but I see a ton of useful apps for the Iphone.

Does the Droid have an easier learning curve tha...

Let's put it this way, the iPhone is something your Mom could figure out and use. Android is not.

and she's the type of person who is scared of computers.

Android can be as simple to learn as the iphone. The difference is that there is an "advanced mode" with android that allows you to do more.

Heh, I hear that. My girlfriend loves her Android and does everything with it; she was so computer illiterate when we met that I had to explain the difference between using an address bar and Google search to find a website...

It's Droid Incredible, not the Droid, but it gives a good point of view, I believe.

I'm going to cover a few of your points...

I'm sure there are plenty of people near you with it, but you just don't know them. Naturally, you're going to know a lot of people with an iPhone, as the phone has been out a year (or more, for older versions). Plu...

Actually, there are phones that surpass the Apple iPhone in worldwide sales... if we go by numbers, the best selling phone would be the Nokia 1100.

And, it's also very generous that the iPhone was even given a "50 million" units allotment considering that the number accounts for the multiple releases as a single model. If you split it up, you'd actually have iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs.

So... yea.

But do you honestly believe that if the IPHONE was allowed on all US providers that ANY android phone would sell? The IPHONE is the most popular phone in the world. I rest my case.

Yes it would. Not everyone appreciates the closed garden philosophy of apple. Android markets to a different mindset of customer than the IPHONE though they are similar, they are NOT the same type of device.

The IPHONEs is not the most popular phone in the world. there are more BLACKBERRIES worldwide (and in the US) than there are IPHONES.

Meno-I agree with you on the BB part; I know from personal experience there are more BB's worldwide than IPHONES.
Scott-love your a$$; why don't you take your own advice and get yourself over to ATT and fulfil your dreams. If you keep waiting for Big Red to come through I'm afraid your going to die a disappointed man. You owe it to yourself my friend.

OK but considering the blackberry has been around for awhile, the IPHONE is gaining considerable market share in a very short period of time.

From a website I read on

"11.4 million units in 2008 to more than 24 million in 2009."

Now if every carrier in the US carried the IPHONE! With a lot of the faithful blackberry users going to android, If the option of an IPHONE was available to every carrier market share would go through the roof.

Just sayin'

Well, you may have a point. There is certain to be an initial 'rush' to buy the IPHONE on Vz but I'm also inclined to believe that most of those who wanted it have already migrated to ATT by now (present company excluded of course; I know you have your reasons) and BB has always had a hard core of supporters, not just among business users (for some reason). Actually if you get away from the Storms they are pretty solid platforms, they do what they do, period and Meno is right when he says they are very popular overseas. I do believe Apple could be poised to become the dominant domestic provider if they opend it up to all carriers, imo.
