My Thoughts on the Droid Incredible...

So, I had to stop in and play around the new HTC Incredible today. With the bar for the Android Super phones continuing to be raised, the Incredible is next line to hold the crown of best Android phone on the market (atleast till the EVO 4G comes out for Sprint).

But can the incredible really stack up against the moto droid and nexus one? Here are some of my quick thoughts after a solid 20 minutes of playing around with the device.

Thoughts are in no particular order....

-Screen: The AMOLED screen is pretty fantastic, didn't get to play too much with the animated backgrounds, but Im sure they will look fine on that screen. I have heard of a lot of issues reading AMOLED screens in bright sun, but there were zero issues in the ve...

Chris

As always thanks for the in depth report from your experience. I have to pay my bill down before I consider the Incredible mine but you answered most of my questions except the keyboard. What did you think of the keyboard?

I agree with you Chris. I have been playing with it for about week and half and it is solid. I have the moto droid also, and there are some differences but I still like my full keyboard on the moto, even though typing on the Incredible is easy. Another key feature, when on the internet reading articles, if you press the screen you can do searches on words, phrases, etc. You can even share articles thru facebook, text, email. This phone is easier for corporate customers to sync with outlook as well. It will do well. Stay tuned for the Bold, it is fast and easy to use as well. The LG Droid will surprise you as well.

Surprisingly, I'm looking forward to the LG offering for some reason; perhaps it's the prerelease name. How can you not like Aloha 🙂
Seriously, I had LG's in my pre-BB days and at least back then they were solid phones. Plus the pictures look a lot like the TP2. My idea of a dream phone would be a TP2, Snapdragon, at least 3.7 screen, Android 2.whatever.

The aloha should be a nice phone. And it has HD video recording, something this phone is definitely missing.

I've had this phone for a tick over a week now and love it. It's my first smartphone but I looked at the Storm2, Droid, & Eris earlier. When I heard this was coming out I pre-ordered it sight unseen (something I usually never do) but reasoned I could use the 30 days to try it out. In case you were wondering I won't be returning. The reason I replied to this post in the thread was what was said about 720p recording. I have been reading about this quite extensively both before and after purchase, and numerous sources have been saying that like the Desire, it has the hardware capability to record at 720p, it just needs to be unlocked in the software in a future update (most likely during the 2.2 Froyo update when/if flash 10 is also made availa...

Yes. LG was once solid on Verizon. The VX-8300 was the best ever. Then they launched the VX-8350 and it has been downhill ever since. I don't know how many Voyagers were fru exchanged...

The way the LG Ally (Aloha's name now) looks in the promo commercial looks nothing like previous pictures of the LG Aloha. Too bad, cos the Aloha's keyboard used to look like the TP2's and if so, would've been my next phone for sure.

Keyboard is same old android fare. Nothing really new about it. It functioned fine for me.

You can also download other keyboards from the app store I believe.

I got a chance to play with that phone too, it's pretty cool device. I think Android is pretty awesome, I don't surf the web enough on my phone to need one, but good to see the progress. I'll be sticking with my Storm 2 for now.

Verizon is just rocking out the good variety of phones, there is just something for everybody! Best selection out of all the carriers hands down.
