My wife and I both have storms (fyi we had contemplated other smart phones and carriers...it is confirmed we bleed verizon red lol )
we are thinking of switching to another phone to save some money...maybe an env touch. The problem is...is it possible to live without a blackberry once you get used to it? Looking for advice and feedback. The big beautiful screen for web browsing and push email I fear has spoiled us....what say you?
just wondering other folks thoughts.
thanks

mobile email on a dumb phone works... but nothing like you currently enjoy...
I could switch to another smartphone but could not ditch all the comforts I have come accustomed to

ugh that is our fear also...we are so spoiled now...and the web browsing is great with such a big screen! we are just torn because we only use it for fun nothing really big or businessy lol

I just switched to a Droid Eris after having a BB for the last 6 years. No cost savings, but an awesome phone non the less. No regrets at all.

I guess it really depends on how important saving $40 a month is to your family budget. If you value the usage you get now maybe saving $40 elsewhere is a better idea.
I personally found that cutting costs out of DirecTV and adding things like Netflix to my Xbox made sense without losing the ability to have entertainment for my family.
I personally could not go back to an non-blackberry or smartphone.

Personally, you would have to pry my BB from my hands. I tried to go back to a dumb phone once... I made it 11 hours; but thats me

Let's think this through. I go from a Storm with a $29.99 data plan to an Envy Touch which requires a data plan or changing to a Connect plan. Best option is a Connect plan with $20 savings. No thanks. Now if you were going to a true dumb phone like an LG-8300 and saving the full $30 then yeah. $30 is a $1 a day. Skip the candy bar or soda you have daily and you've paid it back. Keep the Berries.

you all are reading our minds! LOL I just don't know if we can give these up....you get SO used to have a computer in your pocket...ugh decisions decisions...at least vzw has some good phone options for us to mull over lol

I was gonna say what azeron said. Skimp else where in your life.
eat out less, take a sack lunch to work, no starbucks, fewer drinks at the bar, rent movies instead of buying them....etc.
there's a lot in my life I would sell/give up before I gave away my berry.

Each to his own but for me I just don't like carrying around big phones. i just enjoy a solid flip phone for me it still does everything i need it to do. im on the connect plan so i can still get my email if need be and get news, weather, etc...but i don't even do that much...working in Law Enforcement most everyone is just using good mill spec phones..and my volunteer work filling sand bags, to search and rescue a big phone is just something to worry about.

If all you do with your Blackberry is make phone calls, send texts, and skip through your emails, then you might be able to step away.
If you read and reply to your emails, surf the web, install applications, communicate through IM, connect your phone to your computer, and generally enjoy a well-built device, then you might not be able to give up the Blackberry. While normal phones do most of these aspects, they don't really do it as well.
I didn't think I'd ever give up on my Blackberry Storm until I was given the Droid to use. There are a couple things I miss about my Blackberry (and it's still in my pocket!), but they're not things I can't duplicate or replace. So far, the Android software has created quite an impression on me. ...

As much as I like my S1 I'm thinking of jumping ship when the HTC Predator comes. My wife will upgrade from S1 to S2 but I'm lusting after that phone. I'm going to miss BBMessanger but that's all.
