I was on the band wagon to get one but since I have yet to actually get my hands on one and with a middle of contract price of over $500, I'm rethinking it.
The real deal is for those that are eligible for an upgrade or anyone signing up for new service.

well in my area there are 97 Verizon locations... and about 4 Sprint stores. Verizon released this on all channels, online, BB, Walmart, Agents. There was not just one place to get it at launch. Personally it sounds like you are working for the wrong company... if you love Sprint and the Pre so much why don't you go down the street and ask for an application.. you will be a better salesperson if you believe in the product and it sounds like you believe in Sprint/Pre so go sell those.

As far as crowds on launch day go.. Don't read to much into them. As I said it was released at a crazy amount of locations... hell SEARS had it for $150 at launch. Take this and the fact that real holiday shopping doesn't start for another few weeks I will w...

Hell, my last day with AT&T I was still selling phones and I never had a paid account with them. A salesman sells even if he does not believe in the service. I always felt like I was selling me...not the product, service etc... I remember when I worked for AT&T and a customer brought in a Consumer Reports and said "They say Verizon is the best. Tell me why I should buy from you." In my mind Alltel was the best in my area, but it did not matter. I looked at him and said, "You don't live in any of those cities they tested. You live here and we are the best here." Did I believe that? Hell no! Did I close those two lines. Hell yes! I hope he just keeps it real here on Phone Scoop. Maybe he sold a bunch of other phones. And seriousl...

yes I will sell whatever pays the bills, but when someone asks me my opinion I feel much better being truthful then a sleazy salesperson just pedaling what I believe to be crap to make a dime.

Don't know I have been in sales for a long time and sold many different things and I have always been happier selling and belonging to a company I believe in instead of just collecting a pay check. The day I truly believe Verizon is a horrible company (for customers and to work for) I will find a new job

LOL Sleazy. I've worked for five different carriers. SunCom was the only one I had no confidence in and Alltel was the only one that I truly believed was the best. Selling Verizon or AT&T was like selling Honda or Toyota...not the BEST cars in the world...but serviceable. Now that Verizon has bought Alltel, I can't imagine what it must be like to sell that coverage. You can quit a job if they are not the best...your prerogative. Me? I have just enough ego to enjoy selling snow to Eskimos when there is a ground full of it outside. *Shrug* I thought Alltel had the best coverage (in my region) but it was nothing for me to leave them to sell AT&T for more money. I'm just not THAT invested in any carrier. I wasn't as an employee and c...

Ahem...Motorola Droid has the same processor/SOC as the Palm Pre. That processor happens to be the fastest being used in the market, as it is the first integrated ARM processor with superscalar processing. The 550mhz Cortex A8 from ARM used in MotoDroid and Palm Pre is upwards to 40% faster than the 528mhz ARM11 being used in the Droid Eris and various other HTC devices.

When you present a broken and uninformed argument just to knock another device, disrespect is intended.

In any case, I prefer the Android system over WebOS (the OS Palm develops now, and uses on the Pre). It's a bit more mature, and a lot more open and easy to develop for, so eventually we should see a lot more apps for Android and get much better use out of it. I thin...

You don't follow threading too well ;) My post was in response to uscingulair who claims the Pre is crap compared to the Droid, claiming it had an inferior CPU, display, etc. I was simply pointing out that hardware is not a factor in comparison between the two devices since their underlying hardware is mostly the same.

In any case, you can confirm my information using google. That's how I found it to begin with. BTW, the Cortex A8 can run up to around 1ghz, making it more than 3 times faster than the fastest ARM11 core, while consuming the same amount of power. This is the only thing that made it hard to choose my Droid Eris over the Motorola Droid.

I didn't sell any (slow week for me) but most of the other stores (my company) in my state are sold out.

Still working on getting one activated in store so I can show it to people. people around here don't like buying something unless they can play with it.

not many per store, but times that store number by 200 locations, and then add to the fact that corp stores were telling people for the week previous that the device was going to be a "corporate exclusive" store, just like they mentioned about the storm.
