Hey RIM, Where Is the Love? Storm 2 camera love that is.
Another phone blog reports that T-Mobile's BlackBerry Onyx 9700 (BOLD) will launch with a 5-megapixel camera. Where is the Storm love? Last year, I finally went with the Storm, only after trying out the Omnia and its better camera 1st. I only went with the Storm b/c I didn't like the small qwerty keyboard presented on the Omnia.
Its getting harder to choose RIM, whom I've come to like, when other phones like the Omnia 2 and Motorola Shole are getting ready to drop. After all of the Storm's OS trials and tribulations, they've finally gotten a tight OS together (wow I can't believe I just typed that, and boy do I deserve some sort of medal for not sending the phone flying into the flippn' ocean while RIM and Verizon left their clients t...

Where did you see that? I heard 3.2MP for the 9700. Can you post a link to the article?

Don't assume higher megapixel count = better pictures. I see lower resolution cameras outperform higher ones all the time. Unless you are printing poster sized pictures it is really not that big of a deal.

My ideal is to one day have my phone replace my everyday camera. One less thing to carry around.

But the question is, will that extra 1.8MP mean anything? Most reviews I've seen when it comes to these "High MP" cameras is that the increase in quality really isn't all that great.
Because no matter how decent you make the resolution, it's still the same basic lens.
