1st Bad CS Experience in YEARS!!! Not Sure Where to Go From Here
My blackberry curve won't turn on at all. I have tried 3 different batteries, tried plugging it into the computer as well as the wall charger and nothing. The little red light won't even come on. Thus, I call customer service.
The gentleman I got (and I use that term loosely) went through all of the standard troubleshooting questions and then placed me on hold for 20 minutes so he could go "check what options we have" since my phone is obviously a brick.
He comes back after 20 minutes and tells me that, even though there is no physical damage to the device, and even though I am still within my 1 year warranty, I need to deal through the insurance company and pay the deductible because they had already replaced my device under warran...

when you have asurion on your account, 9/10 they try and push the claim through there.
Honestly, I would try either calling back and getting another rep, or going to a Corp store (one with a tech center) and trying to push the claim through there.

Called back and I have a warranty replacement coming Wednesday...

learn these words "I refuse to accept that as a resolution" there is or at least use to be a message that calls are recorded before you talk to a rep. VZW has (or at least had) a policy that reps are not supposed to hang up until the customer allows them to hang up, the few times I have had a problem the rep always asks if my issue is resolved and if there are any other issues that need to be resolved. When you refuse to accept a resolution they have to do something for you or get someone that can. I would be willing to bet that he was hitting or past the limit that a CS rep is supposed to spend on a call so he wanted to get you to hang up. All these metrics are tracked at call centers so it's to your advantage to keep them on the line as lo...
