No, they will not shut off your line. BUT you will not be able to upgrade or add any lines until the bill is paid. If it goes to collections you may require a deposit for any future services from VZW.

If both accounts are in your name, and your roommate does not pay his bill, your number can be interrupted due to his non payment. You should have him assume liability of his number so it does not hurt your credit or payment history.

Think about it, both accounts are under your name and SSN. When one of them goes delinquent, they're going to be calling up the acct holder. Then they're going to start looking to figure out if they're at risk anywhere else. Suddenly they happen to find your other account.

When one bill doesn't get paid, and its in your name, you are responsible for it. Your credit is on the line because of that. They're going to be looking for other risks.

Don't put anyone else's cell phone in your name. Just all-around a bad idea. Tell them to get their own prepaid service if their credit is already tanked.

I am not asking for advice !I know what can happen ! I just had a friend tell me I am good and he works at a call center so I will take his word on it ! I know that it could go against my credit and blah blah blah ! I would pay it off before it got to that point!

Sorry to inform you, your friend is incorrect. If one level of your accounts goes past due and gets interrupted for non-payment, not disconnected, all lines associated with your name and ssn will get interrupted. I see this everyday...that is how I know. Just trying to give you the correct advice.

Well sorry to burst your bubble I talked to someone in financial services and they said it would not cut me off but until the bill was paid it could impact my credit and they won't let me add another line until the balance is paid in full

I've seen both levels suspended for one level's non-payment, many times in the last five years. I don't think it's a guarantee, but a very good possibility, or I would have never seen it.

I've worked in the VZW call center for customer service, financial services, and online sales. In all 3 depts, I've seen the lines on bill level 2 be suspended for non-payment on the first bill level, and vice versa. If the 2nd bill level doesn't pay on time and is interrupted, the 1st bill level may not get suspended right away, but it will happen eventually, usually within a month or so of the suspension. 😉

yes you will get shut off. The account is the same, you just have his on a "sub-level" so that you get seperate bills. So since it is the same account, yes you will both get shut off and you will both get charged the $15 reconnect fees.
