I am not even with verizon yet( alltel now) but so far i have seen a big daddy attitude. they seem to have got so big that we are treated like a step child. so before i get treated the a dog anymore. i am thinking at&t, sprint, or even t-mobil someone that cares that i have a business with 10 lines. So far there customer support really sucks and yes i can (hear you now),but i don't like what i am hearing
...
If your are still getting a Alltel bill and call into Alltel Customer Service, then Verizon has nothing to do with this. Until you get a bill with the Verizon logo on it, your Alltel CSR and all are still managed by the Alltel CEO and all.
Sorry you are having problems.
...
See that is what i am talking about. i never ask verizon to buy alltel. but they did and the customers with it. all i want to do is switch over now, but i am not a good enough customer to switch, i have been with alltel for 7 years with a grade 'A' credit. Now they want my first born and 400 bucks per line? whatever they will own me in a month or two anyway, but you all seem to say the same thing: " that is a problem with alltel not us" you offer great deals to switch now but there is a catch. when you finally have me or you going to offer sweet deals? i don't thinks so! why would you? stop offer me deals that have holes in them. i just lost a phone number that a had for 6 years because i was told switch now and things will be great. hahaha ...

So you or your business has crappy credit and that is somehow Verizon Wireless' fault?
I am confused.
...
No! we have good credit, With alltel we our an "A" rating. so why should a deposit be needed when even if we had a "crappy" rating we are still going to be verizon? SO is verizon going to run a new credit check on all alltel customers? even thought they own them already. but i guess that is alltel fault right?
...
Something tells me you are not being entirely truthful here. You have good credit or you have good credit established with Alltel?
If you are trying to get Verizon Wireless NOW and you go through the process (that includes a credit check) and you come up a deposit it is because there is something negative on your credit. If you go to AT&T they will do the same. If you sit back and wait you will most likely be converted without issue. You will still likely be requireged a credit check for upgrades.
T-Mobile and Sprint have lower standards before they will assess a deposit but not the two big guys.
...
No like i said before i am not trying to add lines just move the ones we have now! this is a church account which means we don't have a lot of credit but the credit we do have is good! my point is: i was told i could move over now, so we want to do that dropping one number that would not port then they said we need a deposit and we could not get the lost number back. they could have said this before they dropped the number. i never had a deposit with alltel and they were a big boy once.
...
The area code of the one your wanted to port over, is it in the same area or another alltel area?
We can't do port in (port over) from ALL Alltel area yet because we haven't intergraded them yet.
...
i know you cant port them all that is why they said to get a new number and then move all my lines! then they said i needed a deposit and lost my number
...
Ummm Alltel has never been a big boy.

At its peak, Alltel operated a network in 34 states, with a wireless coverage area comprising the largest network in the United States by area. that seems pretty big! but they do have great customer service and car
...
At it's peak Alltel was 1/4th the size of the smallest of the big 4 wireless carriers.
Their "massive" network was comprised of millions of square miles of rural, low usage network that required very little to maintain.
...
still they did take care of there customers unlike the ones that are so big they could care less about anyone

Actually Verizon gets consistently high marks when it comes to customer service/satisfaction.

I completely agree with fastrick on this...Alltel had great customer care. Divested markets (the people who are not merging to Verizon) probably still do, and guess what? VERIZON IS ON TOP BABY! LOVE IT!

Alltel (or rather the company that purchased Alltel) was seeking a buyer. It was not a hostile take over.
If you are part of the market being transitioned to Verizon, you should be able to upgrade you current phones to a verizon/phone plan without having to port over/run new credit.
Most great deals to switch are activation fees, etc. pricing on phones really doesn't vary all that much, your primary line might even have a better discount.
For losing the phone number.. did the port in not go through? Either verizon or alltel currently has the number unless there was a serious computer glitch.

If i was trying to add new lines i could understand a credit check and deposit. but the just move my lines that i have already, ans still be ask for a deposit makes no sense!
as for the number we lost: two lines happened to be an area code that was not supported by verizon yet! so i was told i could change it to an area code for that line that verizon was supporting so they dropped that number too gave me a new one then the moved that line and the three lines that were portable over then they told me they would need 400 bucks per line! why would i pay a deposit on lines that are already their? and in good standing. i could not even move the lines that were portable and keep my lines with alltel that were not supported
...
Yea, I know for a fact in the MW you don't have to do a credit check of any sort. Plus you will get your alltel ETF's and act fee's waived. I know, VZW is a big bunch of bullies and meanies
...
Okay sweeti, first and foremost Alltel NEVER had GRADE A CREDIT. I don't really know where you are coming from love. Second $400.00 for Verizon is like a 1,000.00 deposit for former Alltel, converted south area on the 12th. I seriously think that you need to re evaluate your prepaid and move on. Thank you. ðŸ¤
P.S. Why do you have to dawg on a wireless provider based on YOUR CREDIT SCORE! Verizon did not give you bad CREDIT! Alltel didnt either. NOW, you really have two options. Either A Go and get your love with sprint, who's max deposit is what $250 if i'm not mistaken, or try your luck with at&t, who's is waaaay more!
...
look I am not trying to add 20 lines of new service. just tying to switch over the lines i already have! geezz is that to much for verizon to handle? i would think they would be greatful that i was going to stay with them.

You think he's divested?
...
Ahh, I see what it could be. You area isn't 100% Verizon yet. I don't think it will be till October I think they said. Not all of your numbers could be portable just yet. It was best to prob wait until the conversion date so you would know for a fact that all number could be ported.
...
so? if all me phone numbers were portable then i could switch now. but since i had one number that was not portable i cant move any lines over? that is kinda missed up dont you think.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I'm sure its frustrating to say the least.
If vzw has not taken over the Alltel accounts in your market yet then Alltel is still considered the competition. So when you want to start up service with vzw, it is a brand new account and credit must be run. Verizon's credit standards are different from Alltel's; so while you may have not needed one with them it is obviously not the same case with Verizon. You should get a letter 7-10 days after the credit was run to tell you why a security deposit was needed. (From what I understand; no/little credit is the same as bad credit)
It is to my understanding, and I could be wrong, that once vzw takes over your Alltel market your numbers would just be t...

Alltel's stipulations were WAY WAY WAAAY more constrictive than verizons, just saying! 😎
