Someone told me that since their adding a new area code to where my house is i can go ahead and have my verizon contract voided because of it. My area code is 818 and now 747 is part of it to. I was wondering if this is true. I dont think it is but just wanted to see.

This is not true

You can only have your contract voided if Verizon changed the terms of your agreement without your consent (increased certain fees, reduced minutes, etc), They offered coverage in your area and now do not, etc.

A changing of an area code does nothing to your agreement (especially since nationwide long distance is included)

And that Verizon will probably have number in that area code and area and allow you to change numbers in about 30 seconds.

I'd probably say it's a guarantee that they have a span of numbers in that area code now...as doed every other telecom company in the area.

I don't get why people keep looking for ways to get out of their contract without paying the ETF. If you hate your service that much then cough up the dough and go!
