Phone Suggestions
I'm not really happy with the phone selection that Verizon offers, but I'm in it for 2 years cause of the contract. Is there a phone that is "better" than the others. Or should I wait a couple of weeks for a new phone to come out. I hear a new Samsung camera phone is coming out Feb. 10. Anything else?

The regional indirect territory manager that manages my area said that everyone at Verizon corporate is in love with the Samsung a530. It doesn't have a camera or anything, but if you want something that is just an awesome phone I think its the one to go with... It's small, good-looking, durable, and I'm told has the best reception of almost any phone they carry, although nobody knows why for sure. Verizon direct sells it for $159.99 with a $30 rebate, and since the jackasses won't let indirect stores offer the same rebates I sell it outright for $129.99. Check your indirect dealers first, they can often make a better deal on a phone. Just tell them that the manager of another store already offered you this price... no need to tell them ...

I also love my a530. Great reception, great BIG phone book capacity, and small. Best way to buy a new phone is when your contract is up, call customer service and get a supervisor at Verizon. Tell them you are about to jump ship and go with TMobile or any other company. They do not want you to leave and will give you more of a discount than any store. I ended up with a new a530 FREE plus one accessory of my choice and a $50 credit. All that for a 2 year contract. I guess it helped that I have been with Verizon during the AirTouch days.

Wow, that is better than I could do. My guess is that your being a customer for so long had the most to do with it. I've had customers call and do the same thing, and nobody offers them such a sweet deal.

maybe they did not get the great deal i got, but i bet they got a better deal than if they did not try to make a deal at all. no company wants to see a good customer who pays their bill on time every month leave.
