LG and Verizon . . .

Hi all . . . few questions I'm curious about.

Anyone know when the LG's are going to be on sale at Verizon? Would love to know.

Also, anyone know when the next generation LG Dare or "like" would be coming out? And not the Versa . . . I consider that the prequel. I heard about a 9700 or something.

thanx

Sorry bud, but the Versa IS the next Dare. Don't expect to see anything out of LG similar to those two for the next 6 months at least.

Versa is also superior to the Dare in every conceivable way except the 3.5 mm headset jack and 3.2 MP camera, so unless one of those two items is a deal breaker for you- go grab a Versa.

P.S. LG model VX9700 == Dare. Versa is the 9600 series

I consider the Versa to be the prequel as well. And with 145 Dare reviews compared to 4 Versa (wtf, is nobody buying this phone??) I don't know how anyone can make a statement about superiority. I mean, maybe it is, but I'd like that statement quantified, and by something other than "it has cool icons and 3 different home screens..."

We've sold quite a few of the phone. A lot of people are picking it over the EnV2 because they want a touch screen but no one wants to give up the keyboard (a lot of people really like the cover, myself included)

I think that touch screen hybrids like this are going to be the next wave of phone. There are a lot of people who want an all touchscreen device, but there are many more who want the ease of navigation a touchscreen provides with a real keyboard to fall back on.

Once sales pick up here, I'll most likely get one for myself.

I got a Versa yesterday, just got it activated (finally) about three minutes ago. It takes forever for ESN changes to go into effect on company-provided phones (unless you're important).

I'll play with it and see what it's like. So far, I'm impressed.

I wish you could sync this phone with my outlook calender. The fact that you can't is a deal breaker for me

I've been a lone voice in my area, telling QA that there needs to be a phone that syncs PIM with a computer AND has expandable memory for its calendar. All the syncing in the world won't be worth squat if you don't have the memory to handle it. Right now, only PDA phones can handle the memory. Regular phones are allotted only a certain amount of space for the calendar, hence the persistent problem with maxing out its calendar memory.

An out-of-the-box sync solution for a phone with adequate memory and no data plan requirements would also reduce the number of PDA phones returned. I believe that way to many people go PDA phone simply because they want to sync and find out they've picked up way too much phone in the process.
