Question about texting verizon
I told my daughter on feb 17th that we could now text and call verizon numbers for free. Was I wrong in this info? I checked here and called Alltel they told me I could and we had the right plan that allows it. The only thing that changed was she started texting a friend that have verizon. That number as the only different number she started texting, it is a verizon number. Now our bill is 300 dollars for texting. Is there anyway to confirm what numbers she was texting so I can prove it to Alltel that they were Verizon numbers? Any info would help thanks.

You can call us for free, but you must have a texting pack that has Unlimited Mobile to Mobile texting.
I have no idea of Alltels texting packs.
If you don't have any texting packs and are paying pay-per-use you will be charged the .20 cent fee per message.
Verizon has texting packs like
$5.00 is just 200 text/pic/video/IM messages to anyone.
$10.00 is 500 Text/pic/video/IM messages to anyone PLUS Unlimited Mobile to Mobile (Alltel/Verizon) messaging (text/pic/video).
and it goes up from there.

were you able to text Alltel unlimited before? if you were, then you can text Verizon Wireless unlimited

In addition to what others have said, you need to make sure your Alltel number is not one that will be divested as part of the government approval for the merger. Right now there is an Alltel that is part of the Verizon Wireless system, and there is a Alltel Trust Company which operates under the same name that Verizon must sell to a competitor. Alltel Trust numbers are NOT part of the Verizon Wireless-Alltel mobile to mobile system.
