i got the BB Storm in december, I'm past the thirty day grace period so i cant trade it in, but i need to get rid of it. Can i purchase a used Black Berry from say Ebay, and put my sim card in it? Would it work? I know it would have to be a verizon BB but how does that work? I just HATE the storm. The worst phone EVER.

The SIM card doesn't control your service in the U.S like it does for AT&T and T-Mobile, VZW uses ESN/MEIDs. You would have to purchase a Verizon BB to be able to activate it on the VZW network. If you purchase the BB from an outside source I would recommend to get the ESN/MEID from the seller and call VZW to see if it's on a lost/stolen/non-payment list.

The ESN/MEID is usually listed under the battery, customer service will be able to help locate it too.

I got a Storm about two weeks ago . At first I also hated it and almost returned it. I replaced a Curve (great BB ). Well to make the long story short I hung in there with the Storm and now I love it. It did take quite awhile to get used to it. The Keyboard is a little different , but with a little practice it becomes usable. Also if you close each application it works much faster. 😁

I agree totally. If more people took their time and tried to learn how to use the phone, they will like it. It is a great phone that will do a whole lot of things, if you give it a chance. I have had mine for 2 months and like it a lot.

There is no Sim card.

Once you verify that the BB you buy isn't lost or stolen, you can get the ESN changed in a store and they can also transfer all your contacts over. There may be a fee involved.

To avoid the charge, you can dial *228 from the BB you buy to replace. Select option 3 and follow the prompts. This will activate your new phone (you can also do it online through my account)

Contacts will have to be transferred manually if you do it on your own though.
