Contract ending and Loyalty Dept question

voyager1

Feb 20, 2009, 4:23 PM
I have a question my contract is ending very soon. I have been with Verizon for 8 years. After visiting with Sprint and T-Mobile both offered very good deals to go with them. However, I have received great service from Verizon. I was wondering what services or feature could Verizon's loyalty dept could offer me. To sweeten the deal to stay with big red. Thanks for the input!!! I really enjoy the Verizon forum you guys are always informative and helpful. 🙂

Another customer wanting everything for nothing. You get a NEw Every 2 discount, and discounted price for a new phone. Deal with it, or leave.

I know alot about verizon wireless and 8 years is a long time. Verizon does have a marketing department that offers customers like you great deals on a great network. I was with Tmobile and the service is definitely not as good as verizon. If you call customer service and ask for the marketing department, you are offered great deals including more minutes each month at no additional cost.

Yes, you get a New Every 2 or the discounted price for a new phone. That's the discount there, and the reason to stay. Their not a non profit organization last time I checked.

he's not demanding anything in particular

don't lump him with people who demand free stuff of they are going to leave

he just wants some help from a company he's stuck with in this otherwise high-churn industry

I'd call in. the service Rep will be way more helpful about canceling and wanting better deals than most of these people. Most people in here aren't employees. Some are but as you can see from the previous post 2/3 were not helpful its better to get it from the horse's mouth in this case. My buddy just picked up a storm with out a MIR for 100 bucks. Mind you that was probably before they recently changed their loyalty offers. Plus far as service is concerned if you do decide to go to another company you do have a buyer's remorse period so if you don't have the service you expect or want you can cancel without penalty during that time frame.. Hopefully that helps.

I hear where you are coming from but why not help a customer looking to renew rather than the oposite? 😳

I agree !! It's like this verizon could lower the cost if they wanted to but instead it get's to be more in place of less !! Alltel and US Cellular provide great phone service as well (Everyone has dead spots) And they never charged more than verizon so with that said they are like a 1/6 of the size of vzw so they had higher overhead!! Verizon is really big and less overhead so you need to do the math

Yes because the corporate stores, Multi-million dollar ad campains, the millions or billions spent on network upkeep, etc is all less overhead. 🙄

No, it's really not.

There are tons of ways to write off expenses, but that doesn't mean the stuff doesn't cost money.

Check the ceo payscales. Sprint's CEO made out like a bandit. you want to look at people with low overhead, maybe you're looking at the wrong company.

if you're referring to the changes to the NE2 program, the old values still apply to existing contracts, even ones created the day before the change. the lower values are only for contracts initiated after the change took place.

Well, there's the NE2 program, if your contract was for a two years you should be eligible for 100USD off a new phone if you sign a new contract.

As far as current discounts and promotions, there's the stuff listed on
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/promotion/control ... »
Calling customer service would be the easiest way to find out anything else and to verify your NE2 eligibility.

Verizon will not offer you anything to stay, besides a new cheap phone to be disenchanted with within the first week. My suggestion is to continue to look for a better value, verizon is not the God of wireless. Good luck!

We don't have a "loyalty" dept that would be able to offer you anything special. You are elgible for the 2 yr pricing on a phone and maybe a NE2 credit. Depending on your price plan or email/web plan, you may be elgible for a 1 time service credit.

There are some loyalty plans, but they are ONLY there for if you really don't use minutes.

What is the coverage like for Tmobile and Sprint where you would use the phone? Sprint and Tmobile both have signifigantly smaller coverage footprints which is why they can afford to be cheaper. Sprint also consistently scores poorly when it comes to customer service, and they are losing a lot of customers because of it.

Tmobile and sprint have some great deals, but there is typically a reason for it.

They won't do a thing to sweeten the deal. If having great service and coverage isn't enough for you, go somehwere else. They'll find someone else to take your place, don't worry. They sure aren't.

If you aren't in the department, don't speak for them! I've seen Loyalty plans so I know they exist but they're usually for customers who would otherwise be better served by a low minute t-mobile or sprint plan.

Honestly, if you don't use the phone much, go get Verizon Wireless Prepaid

Buttt you don't get free phones or good deals on phones with prepaid. I do agree though SOME customer really are better with a prepaid type plan. I think those customers would be the ones that use less than 100 mins per month (including nights/weekends and mobile to mobile). I'm not even going to claim to be a expert about vzw's prepaid. So someone else wouldh ave to explain the general stuff.

Prepaid is great if you:

-Have poor credit
-Have an aversion to contracts but don't want to spend $200 on a new phone.
-Use the phone only as an emergency/situational device.

For most customers, post-pay is a better option, but with the new prepay plans, prepay is a decent option, especially for people with credit issues.

I have had VZW for nearly 7 years and just recently I left. I wanted a better phone and after looking at the coverage maps I decided that T-Mobile would work just as good as VZW in the areas that I go and it would also work when I travel home to England or to holiday in the Canary Isles.

So far I have really liked my experience with T-Mobile. I purchased the Moto ZINE, the Nokia 5610 & the SE TM506. They all have more features than most of the phones that VZW offers and my signal is really good and the cost of service is much cheaper as well.

It's also really nice being on phones that are just appliances either. I never really got the phone argument against VZW until I tried them out.

But it all comes down to coverage and that i...
