In the fourth quarter 2008, Verizon Wireless continued to deliver service ARPU growth, strong customer loyalty, and sustained high margins:
Organic growth totaled 1.4 million net customer additions, essentially all of which were retail.
Retail net customer additions totaled 1.2 million. This included a net loss of 122,000 retail customers, resulting primarily from the closing of a previously announced exchange agreement with another carrier. Verizon Wireless had entered into this agreement to comply with conditions imposed in connection with regulatory approval of the company's acquisition of Rural Cellular Corporation, which closed in August 2008.

Good numbers, can't deny that. However, Storm sales were a disappointing 500k during the first month. (iPhone 2.4 million during first month)
And your churn actually went up.
I would be curious to see how many Storms sold globally.

Ummm. Not much more.
Its CDMA which is only used by 11% of the world. GSM is used by 89% percent of all carriers worldwide.
The opportunity to sell more is limited. It can't even be used used on your non - American partner company.

The Iphone 3G sold 3 million it's opening weekend but it was also being sold in over 20 countries.
The Storm sold 1 Million it's first 2 months in the US alone.
So I would have to say it did pretty well, from a business and comparison perspective.
