please don't tell me all verizon people are this ignorant
"Let's talk seriously why would any of you people in this forum even waste your time with such a pathetic company like US cell? Can anyone say horrible calling area!! I mean with a company like Verizon out there I don't understand what you people are thinking!!! REALLY!!"
They are a bit harder to sell than Verizon and their customer service can be a bit inconsistent. When they go head to head in their markets with the nationwide carriers they do very well.
The joke we tell about them is that they build a new tower wherever two rattlesnakes happen to meet. In the Northwest they are the only carrier to cover many large stretches of federal highway. Loggers love them and so do many county government employees.

And why are you so Surprised? Its Verizon corporate culture to bash other customers and there prefereences and the competition rather than offer up Verizon advantage....guess that advantage is wearing thin.

And the interesting thing is that with your responeses of the past few days, you've proven that Verizon folks have no monopoly on ignorance or bashing.
Thank you, Kingfrog. 😁

Nothing to think about KF... as I don't work for Verizon. Though I doubt that those who do are terribly worried either.
At least you admit that you're ignorant. Its the only thing you've said so far that's been remotely true. 😉
But I am not ignorant in my knowledge that Verizon is an arrogant corporation who is all of a sudden dealing with formidable competition and making all kinds of changes which hurt their usual revenue stream.
And in my grand ignorance I'm enjoying watching them twist in the wind.

Trust me, just about ALL corporations are arrogant. If you honestly think that Cingy or Verizon are much different from the rest of the corporate universe in this regard, well there's a bridge in Brooklyn I'd love to sell you... in easy monthly payments, of course.
who is all of a sudden dealing with formidable competition and making all kinds of changes which hurt their usual revenue stream.
Bro-ther, do you need an education. Here's how much their revenue is being hurt:
NEW YORK (Reuters) (1/27/05) - Verizon Wireless, a venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group Plc, ...

I sais Verizon will and is losing revenue streams do to the "me too" implimentations thay have had to put in place recently and your ARPU numbers reflect that. I was not wrong when I said new subscribers will have to make up for that reduced revenue and this was a new issue since VErizon had no formidable competitiom before.
You guys predicted you net adds would go through the roof while Cingy failed because ATT was such a dog and the port ins would be huge. Verizon fan boys also said VErizon would not have to change a thing as they were that much better and people would pay more for better.......well I don't see that with the changes VEriazon has HAD to make.
And in your...

and the industry is going to get cheaper.....and cheaper.....and cheaper.....and cheaper until the first major carrier hits chapter 11. and i doubt it'll be the one with the smallest operating expenses and largest cash flow...

I will, just the second you quit the mescaline and horse tranquilizers.

But what you didn't mention was that Cingy's ARPU (Avg Revenue Per User) is hurting FAR worse than Verizon's. Open your eyes and take a look:
Average monthly revenue per user (ARPU), a closely watched measure of financial health in wireless, was $50.32, down from $51.58 in the third quarter up from $49 a year earlier.
Cingular, a venture of SBC Communications and Be ...

Who gave you a peak at the Verizon PNL? (profit and loss sheet for the uninitiated)
How do you know that Verizon's revenue stream is damaged? Verizon is a cash rich company with very little debt. They have access to funds others in this industry could only dream of.
A little reality in business is that you respond to competition. It could be from the smallest of competitors.
Cingular would still be using TDMA if it were'nt for Verizon's CDMA. It is the nature of business. Kind of like playing chess. You have your strategy but respond to your opponent from within your strategy.

Coveregae to me is simple; its just relative to where one uses the phone. Even in major cities, coverage from one carrier to another can be so drastic from one person to another. Each individual has to try the service out and see what works for them.

Too bad most sell reps can't grasp that ideal. They have thier heads stuck far up their a$$ to think that their company is far superior then antother and that if you dont have their companies service, then whom ever you are with sucks. Thats why we as sells rep should always pre sale a customer. I make sure I know where all the carriers work so I know whats best for the customer.
YOu are draming if you think VErizon Reps will ever do business that way...First of all NO Verizon rep sees ANY advantage to go with Cingular.IF they did they could bury Cingular...but alas they won't and are making all kinds of efforts now to be more "Cingular like"......each one costing them revenue they once...

I'm sure there's not a few Cingy reps trying to 'bury' Verizon as we speak. What of it? Its called 'capitalism'.
but alas they won't and are making all kinds of efforts now to be more "Cingular like"......each one costing them revenue they once had...can't wait to see year end results compared to previous years. Gonna need a lot of ads to counter losses of revenue.
Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about Verizon's revenue. They made a rather large profit last quarter. Cingular? They los...

My point exactly brother, like I keep saying when you buy a failing, going out of business cell company with 20 million subs. your not automatically the best in the industry, now who's ignorant? or is it stupid?
Seems to me ATT is not the dead albatross you guys were banking on. Verizon has made so many changes in the past 6 months the CSRs and high turnover sales reps are confused. All the changes IN NEtwork M2M this map that map.... (a joke) now is all network, No Roaming (a Cingular clone, (no roaming= no service whic you guys gleefully pointed out) Lower prices.....BT catastrophe..
all costing precious APRU which is the life blood. Only the new signup are keeping revenue up...and ...

Do you honestly believe that professional execs of that caliber weren't watching Cingular with great interest? It's US that were expecting Cingular to tank...or at least flail in the wind a little. Stop speculating on something you obviously know NOTHING about.

And the changes that verizon made, it's called competition.
Why do you think cingular started offering "no roaming nationwide plans" when verizon was previously boasting about it's network but still had roaming charges at teh time.
Are you saying you're in favor of monopolies?
