I've been a smart phone user for years. Have been on a Treo 650 for about 3 yrs. I've been reading all of the comments about the Storm. My question: Is there an additional charge beyond the standard VZ phone/text/data agreements required to be able to use the Blackberry? If yes, would you mind providing a brief explanation? and why would individuals pays this? Thx in advance.

Blackberry devices, including the Storm, do require a data plan. 3 options: $24.99 10MB, $29.99 Unl Internet and Email (BIS), and $44.99 Unl Internet and Email (BES). None of these plans include text messaging. Thanks very much. This is very helpful! but leaves me with another question. Ideally, I'd want my messages on my phone but also in my email box on my laptop (for a variety of reasons). If the message is rec'd on Blackberry does that mean it won't be on my laptop. Thx again.

Yes you will have them at both locations (your phone and laptop). However, on the phone you have the option of deleting the email and it gives you the option of deleting from handheld only or handheld and mailbox. So, in that scenario you would only want to delete it on your handheld so that you still have that copy for your mailbox.

awesome, thx! So it's similar to what I have with the exception of the "push" capability. 😁
