New Phone Time

Scott

My new in every 2 in now available & I'm looking for a new phone, & you folks have always been a great help.

When looking for a phone my priority list goes like this.

1.)Reception is the biggest thing for me because I drive through some spotty areas on my drive to work & I haven't solid service through this area since the days of the Tri-modes.

2.)Battery life
3.)Durability (I'd prefer a flip phone even though I'm not that hard on a phone)

Minor needs would be ....
Camera
screen size (my 385 has been a very good phone but the screen size just sux!)

Thanks!

The EnV2 is a great phone, with good call clarity, and good battery life.

I would recommend the Motorola V750. It is marketed as a Push-To-Talk phone, but you are NOT required to add PTT to your plan.

Everyone has stated that the V750 offers outstanding reception and sound quality. Battery life is poor with PTT enabled, but I know people who declined PTT, disabled it in the menus and are now getting excellent battery life.

I don't find LGs to be as good reception-wise as Moto. Just my personal opinion, but I agree with the new Adventure or the W755 - both flips, both get good reception. I also don't think the LGs are as durable over time. But battery life continues to be an issue with Motorola...

My list:

#1: LG Dare, unless having no keyboard bothers you.
#2: LG Voyager. I'm typing this message on a Voyager and I love it.
#3: LG Env2, if you wanna save a few bucks or don't want to change to the new data pricing structure. This phone also suffers from a high rate of reported "pocket calling" where the outside screen unlocks itself while in your pocket and starts dialling out.
#4: Moto Adventure V750. The only decent Motorola device released for VZW in the last three years (since the E815), and it's awesome with or without push-to-talk.

You will notice that all the phones mentioned are BIG handsets except the Moto. You mentioned that you travel through marginal coverage areas occasionally and the fact is that ever since mfgrs...

I ended up ordering the Moto Adventure V750, even though I'm not that hard on them I liked it being built to Mil Spec .

Now the bad news, the charging port on my daughters Chocolate is messing up AGAIN (she's on her 3rd one), so she's going to get my new phone & I'm stuck with my 385 for another year (but it's still like new & a good phone).

Thanks for all the input folks & I'll be back in another year asking these same questions.

If she is on her third phone and it is having the same problem then if you go into the Verizon corporate store or call the telesales and explain the situation and they will be able to tell through records that you have had to have it replaced three times so far they might swap it out with something else....Verizon has been awesome and has done that for both myself and my husband this year. Worth a try and then you would get to keep your phone. 😁 😁

just get her a new phone off craigslist or something. Or make verizon fix the issue. You have a right to have a phone that works, especially if its still under the 1yr warranty.

Dont ever settle, talk to a manager and tell them you want a real solution to the charging port problem.

Just my two cents, good luck on your search.
