i love the dare, however a vzw guy said it is a great phone unless your a big texter because the touchscreen can only last so long and take so much 'touching' and a physical keyboard is much better. is this true and has anyone lost touch sensitivity with theirs or other similar phones?

I honestly have not seen the Dare coming back with these issues and have not had to replace any as well for touch screen malfunctions.

However, I can't say that it is impossible. I would like to think that LG had heavy txting in mind with there design, but I can't speak For them.

All I can say is to buy the screen protectors, a silicone, or plastic case for it and try to keep the screen from being bumped or banged around.

Anyone else in the stores seeing/not seeing issues?

My coworker has worn out the buttons on two voyagers from texting (txt whore over 3000 a mo.) If you use it enough it will ware out. That being said I txt over 1000 a month and the screen on my dare is just as nice as it was right when it came out. That's what warranty and ins. are for.

i own the dare and demo it to customers.

i have dropped it two times from waiste height on a solid tile floor (concrete with tile overlay) and the phone is fine.

also, i take a pen and hit my screen, with no screen protector or anything on it, to show the durability of it.

lg knows what they are doing, and aside from fear of scratching, i dont think there is much to worry about

i have had it since it was available in stores
hope this helps

PS as for the sales rep, he was either out of stock, or being really really honest.

And not to mention, most likely when and if it does wear out, there will be a new phone out there that you want. Most people dont keep phones long enough to wear them out.
