I applaud Verizon's business model as well as Apples. They use people's fear of technology to control them and their pocketbooks. I mean really a decision NOT to include a removable batter in a phone is not an engineering decision.

Hell, people can run their own regressional/forecasting analysis ... people can design their own combustion engines ... people can walk instead of fly ... but why do all of those things when you can pay someone to do it for you?

It's because the US has a free market that there are CDMA, GSM, HSPDA, EVDO, HSUPA, iDen, etc. To call Verizon Socialist because they do what they do when there are other choices that you can choose is completely asinine. If we were locked to Verizon wireless because that was the only choice, he would have a point.

Also, just to add a bit more of fact and reality to the fallacy of your argument. In developing countries that were not mandated to use GSM, such as Brasil, India and Korea, all chose CDMA because it is a much more developed technology with better load balancing, higher traffic capacity and greater use of bandwidth. They also chose the CDMA technology because it cannot be listened in on over the air. Can you hear me now?... Only on GSM with a $150.00 receiver from Radio Shack.

That what people need to realize before shopping for a new device, research the specification and the pros and cons; people forget the sales reps number one priority is sale a product, and some might even lie out of his/her a** off to get the sale, so people shouldn't be surprise that they got screwed over by a sales reps. I have seen it being done too. That the reason I do my research first than shop, can't be screwed if you are knowledgeable before hand.
