Possible to get Centro and keep voice-only emp. discount plan?

Ready for my new-every-two. My current plan is a 19%-off employee discount voice-only plan, but I've since retired from the company.

1. Will they ask me for proof that I'm an employee when I do a new-every-two?

2. Can I get a Centro and not purchase a data plan? I carry both a PDA and a phone now, am just looking for device consolidation.

Thanks for any help.

Question #1 can get me in trouble and there are VZW corporate people looking at posts here.

#2, yes you can do a voice only. The stores might charge you more for doing that but I know online won't.

I don't work for VZW so I can say it.

No, they will not check. It's a feature/promo code on your plan. It will stay there until someone manually removes it and rep's dont care about checking it.

I advise for you to get the total voice+data plan package. The reason is because it's a lump sum monthly cost and that entire amount will be discounted since it's lump sum.

Thanks much sangyup81, tntk2k1, willv.

The voice+data plan with lump sum discount is a good idea, except when I investigated the retail prices, it's a $40 difference, as far as I can tell:
- 450 v+data plan: $79.99.
- 450 voice plan: $39.99 (I have this now)

Not the $30 that's being ballyhooed.

the plan you have now is giving you the discount on the voice. you dont get the discount on features. i think its the email and web plan would probably save you the most, and if you text go with the email/web/unl. text plan for more savings

when someone comes in and the feature is on their plan already, it had to get there somehow. it would either be a mistake or someone verified you work there. no need to re verify.
