Upgrade now or wait?

So I'm eligible to upgrade my phone now, and my contract expires in July. I'm in a family plan and definitely want to stick with Verizon. Is there anything I can do to get a better phone...? Should I upgrade now or wait and use my contract ending as a bargaining chip...? I'm already a VIP member, which should give me $75 off a new phone.
Any suggestions?
thanks!

Not sure about the VIP thing but I don't think you're going to get any better deals. There usually isn't any bargaining when getting a new phone. You're eligible for what you're eligible and that's that.

I was going to say the same. Verizon is a cool company but when it comes to getting new phones. You're eligible for what your eligiable for. Now you could wait until your contact ends, which would carry a little more bargin rights (seeing you could take your business else where).

Still you really can't expect them to do much, however with that said, sometimes you get CSR's that are in really good moods and want to see you keep your business with Verizon, but it's not a right. So you understand, Verizon doesn't have to, not to sound mean.

If you're a secondary or primary line on your family share plan, then that will determine if you're eligible for a New Every Two credit which is $50 or $100 (depends on ur plan; primary lines only get the NE2). I do know VZW offers a VIP program for the northeast area, however, it doesn't give you an additional credit towards the purchase of a phone.. unless you're doing an annual upgrade (early upgrade). Whatever you're eligible for is what you're eligible for.. it doesn't change over time or after your contract is up.

Like previous posters stated, if you upgrade thru a customer service rep, you may get an additional credit or discount.

Hope this helps!
