Hi. I am thinking of applying for this position with VZW....Can someone please shed some more light into this position and what the salary range is? Apparently, you have to go through 6 months of training and I am wondering if you're paid strictly salary during the training period. Thanks.

I am not sure if this applies to all positions, but VZW pays you salary during training. They also cover you with benefits from day 1, so you're not waiting 90 days. They have very good benefits.
Best of luck with the job 🙂

The training is 6 weeks classroom and 4-5 weeks on the phones in a transition area with help if you need it before you go out onto the floor! The pay is great, starting at over $30K now I believe (and you move up quickly), great benefits including great discounts on phones/plans, tuition reimbursement, insurance and yearly bonuses! I've been with the company nearly three years now and I say go for it! I love working there! 🙂

Training (based on call center or area) is 7 weeks classroom and 12 weeks in transition. That changed a year ago. Also the pay scale is based on the call center location. So, if you work in Alabama , you aren't going to start at the same pay rate as if you are in California or New York.

I've been with Verizon Wireless 10 years and I can tell you that the pay is un-matched in the customer service, sales field. Not only compared to other wireless carriers but the field in general. My yearly income is about $50,000 and I am not in a managerial position.
The benefits do start day one but one thing I want to clarify is the it's not really "tuition reimbursement", they pay your tuition upfront to your school, up to $8,000 per year. Hope this info helps you.

This is huge for me as well.
I'm currently witn an indirect agent and looking to move up into the corporate VZW ring.
I've done some talking with managers at a location nearby and heard about benefits and tuition and such.

Up to $8000 a year is huge. Let's hope that good things are to come!

Do you work with a premium retailer or authorized agent? I have heard (on phone scoop mostly) that if you work for a premium you have to wait 6 months before you can work with corporate Verizon. I don't know if that is true or not and here is the only place i have heard it but it is also not a hot topic of conversation at work either.

It really depends on each company's non-compete clauses and such. I do live in a "right-to-work" state so it's hard to say what they can actually do.
There is one person from my company (different location) that applied at VZW and no-compete was put into effect. But another now works at T-Mobile and nothing happened. I also know of three others who left here for another premium retailer.

We'll see.

I was meaning more on the VZW corporate side. I think it has something to do with VZW's agreements with the premium retailers. The non-competes have to do with the company you work for (I'm sure you knew that already). I don't know for sure on any of this. It would be interesting to know for sure.

I was told that they can't APPROACH and try and recruit any indirect dealers. But outside of each company's no-compete, as far as I know anyone is eligable to apply for those positions that are available.

what is not a call center position? I work in a call center, I was wrong about the training time tho, it has changed since 3 1/2 years ago when I went thru, but everything else is accurate. I am making over 35K right now and yes, I work in a call center.

I'm in a call center (TSS) as well and will clear 65K this year. I work a lot of OT though. That is one perk of bieing in a call center, lots of OT avail if you are willing to work it.

Sorry that none of the responses bothered to answer your original question. Here's your answer: BAE's have a 6 month "roll up". You're paid 100% of your commission on month 1. On month 2, you're paid at 80%. So the number of accounts you need to close in order to hit a 100% payout is very small. This continues for 4 more months until you reach 0% and you're on your own. You'll receive salary (slightly negotiable). The pay range varies by market. California and New York for example have a much higher cost of living than New Mexico would. Expect 1-2 weeks of classroom training the first month and some follow up training throughout the next 6. Everyone who responded to you works in CS or maybe retail. Training for B2B is different because it's ...

yes the pay is decent and the benefits are great, but trust me when I tell you that unless you are an african american male or sleeping with a DM you won't move up! there is a very small amount of females in management. You are totally micromanaged and will be treated like $HIT. Take a look at other wireless comapnies and you will see that the industry standard is pretty much along the lines with what verizon pays and offers for benefits. I left after a long long time, got a higher paying job and better benefits with another wireless company. It will also depend on what state you are in. Missouri is notoriously horrible for bad HR and treating people poorly!
