I had three choc. break. Three different problems three phones. I went to Circuit city because the verizon reps at the store are very "busy". After I told the rep my problem he took my phone to what I would guess to be his sup. who was standing about ten feet from me. Apparently he didn't know I was there and replied with "Tell him to stop dropping his f***ing phone" The rep came back said it was going to be $50. I called customer service and they said that was a good deal for a replacement. So I decided that I would call back and cancel everything that I could (seeing as how my my screen didn't work, what good is vcast when i cant watch any of it!!!)When I contacted verizon for the third time to cancel everything my rep was very nice. His n...

Great story, now if we only knew all of it. What phone did "brian" get you at such a great deal?

Sorry CC was rude to you, but depending on the situation a $50 replacement is a very good deal, I'm guessing you were out of your warranty or there was a crack in the screen (even hairline cracks void the warranty), both of those situations would be a $50 replacement. Even though you had 3 replacements if your warranty is up it will cost you to replace it. I don't know for sure since there aren't any Circuit City's in my area but I would be willing to bet that the VZW reps who work there are not employed by VZW so you can't hold VZW at fault for his rudeness that is CC problem for keeping him on. It sounds like the second person who works in a VZW call center was helpful but just didn't give you the answer you wanted. Unfortunately not every...

I am glad to hear that you got good customer service and as stated before at places like Circuit City and Walmart etc. they are not Verizon employed people and have probably never even been Verizon trained so I hope that you do not let some guy behind a counter ruin your experience with Verizon

If they are Corp trained then why do customers come from those locations to my store and are completely confused and not properly informed of what they signed up for. Everyone that has walked in my store from those locations state "I should have just come here"

Not corporate trained ... corporate owned.

Because like other enterprises, employees are human beings and miscommunication and mistraining is bound to happen.

Do you work at a Corporate location? Becuase i work at a Premium Retailer and all day long we get complants about Corporate Stores!!! They always tell us they have never had that bad of customer service in their life that anytime they go there they are nothig but rude and always sneak in features to their plan that they have to pay for without asking and never help. At my location we are always praised about the FIRST CLASS service that we offer our customers! 🙂

We are also a Premium Retailer and sit in the same boat you do if I had a dollar everytime someone came here complaining about the rude service they received at a corp store I would not need this job. One of the reasons the guy who owns this chain opened them is because of the rude people at corp. stores and if one of my employees ever treated a customer half as rude as the corp stores treat their customers they would be written up and terminated. I do not put up with rude sales people. I personally went in to our local Corp. store because i needed to have my EnV flashed the guy was such a jerk over a flashing that i asked him if he was always this big of an A$$. that caught him off guard but i would have never hired anyone that rude!!!!

i work at just a regular agent and i get this all the time too. im not saying that every rep at every corp store is rude or dumb, but the ones that are in the same mall as me fall into this category. i have ppl come to me to activate the phone they just bought at corp cuz the rep was too busy to do it for them.

Probably for the same reason that we get a lot of people from the cor store come into my location in the same boat. Poor employees. I'm not trying to start a cor vs IDR debate, I stand that each location is only as good as the people it employs and if the circut city in your location hires morons, people leave confused,

Please read this portion of my post, I was assuming that they weren't, I even said I was not sure. Quit whining about it!

Those kiosks are considered "direct" when you look it up in info manager, but they are resellers of VZW service. The only places that can really handle anything are corporate stores. Corporate and direct are not necessarily the same.

Cor stores are not the only place that can "really handle anything". The only advantage they have over other stores (indirect) is being able to do FRU's in the store and that they have a CS rep in store but indirects can still do the same they just have to call in to take care of it.

There are alot of things that I am 100% positive about. This isn't one I would argue about, cuz I have never worked any either type of store and cannot fully comment on what each store can and can't do. You win this round, but I'll will be back for you GoVZW, if that is your real name. Lol

are circut city and best buy mobil even considered indirect? having worked for indirect/ direct i have always been taught that the aren't either. they re sell the service, but buy phones thru a third party source. and from working a BBM i know first hand that the reps do not get any VZW trainin. only what the account managers tell them every month on the visit. no act. training, no phone price ot tech. support training.

Here is the FACTS. Circuit City locations are DIRECT Verizon Wireless. Meaning the people that man those locations get paid by Verizon Wireless, they get commissions from Verizon Wireless, they get benefits from Verizon Wireless. Some Circuit City locations do have Fru's. They can participate in NE2 and events like that. They are a corporate location. Some kiosks are also corporate...so see above. They have the very same capacities as a retail store. Same access to account information, same abilities to issue credits if needed and etc. Some carry fru's (although not all). But their items sold carry a valid warranty that can be processed at any Verizon Wireless retail location nationwide. They can also do refund/exchanges just the ...

Good post, it all depends on how YOU are treated and what they can do for you. There are bad apples in every bunch, some indirects are great while others treat the customer like crap, same goes for corporate/direct stores you have the good and bad. You just need to find what works best for you and make sure you go there every time, if you are a good customer that gives them your repeat business and recommend them to your friends and family the store will appreciate it and probably take care of you for giving them the extra business.

To be honest I've made that mistake before, but I didn't drop the F-bomb on the customer. They got a new phone for free and I got a verbal warning. You should of got the Sups name and had customer Care call back the CC and you would of gotten a phone for free w/o contract extension if you escalate the issue enough. I only say this cause I've been a dumb employee before and let my mouth run itself.

Yeah, that was really rude. Unfortunately all companies have rude reps, and sometimes good reps have bad days. I love how all customers seem to think reps are always going to be very nice and very good. Also, not getting the answer they want and getting mad. 😛

This wasn't supposed to be negative!! I was going to cancel all the extra stuff ( vcast txt msg package...) and instead he got me to jack my bill up. I understand that we all have bad days, but it seemed to be my luck to always catch the guy who is having one! VZMAN seems to be one of those guys.
