I am so done with Verizon. I've been off and on with them ( mainly with them ) since they where AMERITECH (I live in the Chicagoland market ) I hate their MENU. It bites and I'm tired of it. All their new phones have it. The e815s menu? Where did it go? Verizon has the best coverage and the best service out there but I'm leaving for good until they stop with the communist b.s. they have with their phones n services. I'm tired of the boring V9M I have. Come on. Who uses the right button ----- Say a command ----- uh, no one. Why cant Verizon leave Motos, Samsungs, whoevers original menu on their phones? All out war on Verizon. Shame on you Verizon.
Not many people in this forum will care tha...

Yeah, the UI is plain. I would hope that there is more to why you use a mobile phone than the UI, but if not, good luck to you. But the phone works when and where you want it to, I'm sure most every time.
Hey, take up Brown27's offer for the Sprint SERO plan.
No slingbox for you!! đ¤Ŗ đ¤Ŗ đ¤Ŗ
And who cares about slingin to a phone? If you need TV that bad, you need help my friend. I think my DVR will do the trick for now...

Are you serious??? I have a Moto Krzr and a Pearl and could care less about the user interface. What is it you don't like about the interface anyway?
Spoken like a true Verizon Red Comrad who apparently never experienced the joy of a true native interface. Ignorance is indeed bliss.

Hey...VZW didn't mess with pda's GUI's. Give credit where credit is due, no? đ

I don't use the Pearl, I got the Touch!!!! and I use Nextel DC!! Nice try tho, plus the Sprint version of the Pearl has GPS, not crippled like verizon, and in a cool black color, plus red too... unlike verizon. Peace! đ
with the failure rate of htc devices and win mo locking up every few minutes, i'll pass. plus the touch isn't anything special. Nextel DC is so far outdated of a technology i'll be glad when it's gone. i'll stick with my curve or wait for a good sony or nokia with a qwerty. sorry verizon, i'll go back to the at&t forum now ;-)

The Touch is surprisingly stable which is nice because many smart phones that I've used in the pass failed with voice clarity plus plenty of hard resets. But yeah Palm and BB os are more stable....qchat is being released in April with all kinds of new push to X features, very cool stuff. The Curve will be a nice addition for Verizon and Sprint!!
i should add the reason i said the touch isn't anything special is for the same reason the iphone isn't, no pysical keyboard.
YEah you will drop calls now and then. But freedom does come with a cost and a few dropped calls are a very small cost to pay for Superior phones, complete freedom how you use your phone and service.
Welcome to freedom......

ok so i used the old UI's on samsungs lg's, audiovox, even the old ericsson's(b4 sony) and none of those impressed me at all. all very boring and unchangeable. the only one was moto's had a few changeable options nothing to write home about or even come close to getting me to take home a moto, But the rest of the menu's were garabage, it took nearly twice as many steps to do something as it would on most other phones, very complicated and confusing. the new menus are very simplified and ready to use. maybe you can't hack it as much but it's better that that old garbage. and the red you so hate. well that can be changed as well. so get a clue. i actually was excited when i saw the new style on the 1

Not everyone in this world has the smarts to learn a new menu everytime they get a new phone. I think it is fine personaly.I would take the new menu any day over the old motorola charging port. No mater what way the menu is set up, someone is going to hate it. đ
Switch to Verizon because..
Not everyone has the "smarts" to learn.
Verizon,,,The Wireless carrier for dummies.
"We do it all for you."
Sounds like a great marketing tool.
I think if I had as much as you to post as you do I'd find a better hobby. Try golf, its worked out for me.
so when VZW had this universal UI, a lot of my customers loved it cuz it minimized the learning curve when transitioning to a new device.
AvgJoe ... just face it. US customers don't give a rats ass about cell phones. they will...

seriously AvgJoe. you have to understand the majority of the US market aren't as phone/tech savvy as the rest of the world. They could care less about what kind of phone they buy. When I was working with cellular phones, the biggest complaint i got was "man if I buy a new phone I have to RE-LEARN everything again, need to get used to the menu," and etc. I remember I spend a good amount of times with customers customizing the settings of the new phones they bought to be very similar to their previous phones.

Att and APPLE crippled the iPhone so it wouldn't work on any network and force customers into a 2 year contract even though they charge full price for the phone đŗ
Yeah and they offered it to Verizon first Go figure. I am no iphad fan. IN fact if you read the ATT forum I have said as much. I know more people who got sucked up in the iphad and now have a Nokia N95, Read Howard Forums. Lots of buyer's remorse. Apple Marketing works, Thats what they bought. For $600 they could have bought a far far more featured phone.
And remember they lowered the price of the Iphad 30% in weeks after release. Not exactly a sign of over the top sales. Many are still unactivated.

1.6 million and counting đŗ There is a reason VZW didn't want it, Apple is more controlling than Hitler was đŗ
Not quite as much as Verizon though.
My 8130 had blackberry messenger between carriers, web browser suitable for my needs, media manager that works adequate and killer reception and reliability. At the end of the day I need a cell phone and PDA, for everything else I have a computer.
I feel for those here in Chicago using some oth the other networks that themselves are crippled with ineffective call blockage, dropped calls and overall poor reliability.
Excellent point, especially when comparing sub-par coverage to effective yet different device crippling.

My phones do what I need them to do and the service works well. If controlling dropped calls and allowing me to use a bluetooth headset is controlling the VIVA Verizon because the phone does what I need.

Well not everybody has as much spare time as you do. I mean you have to be bored out of your mind because you post like 100 times a day. Has this become your myspace?
I think if I had as much as you to post as you do I'd find a better hobby. Try golf, its worked out for me.
Living in Myrtle Beach I am aware of golf. I think its a crappy way to ruin an otherwise nice walk in the park. IF I were bored I would not be doing this. I don't do things that are boring to me.

How pathetic is your life? Living in MB, which have been to a number of times, and yet this is your main pre-occupation. I can understand a number of people post here because they work in the wireless world but you have stated you do not work in the industry, which means either you are lying (high likelihood) or you're a poor, pathetic fool trying to find satisfaction is flaming a number of forums of a company you don't even use.
